What do you think about filming martial arts movies in 3D? The only ones I know of are...
Dynasty
Revenge of the Shogun Women
Magnificent Bodyguard
Tiger Man
The North and South Chivalry

Pass. I tried watching Robert Rodriguez's THE ADVENTURES OF SHARKBOY AND LAVAGIRL in 3D and I couldn't do it for more than two minutes before getting nauseous. Then again, I get motion sick easily. Motion sickness aside, I still wasn't impressed. For once I agree with Michael Bay when he says that 3D is a gimmick (http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/04/03/michael-bay-thinks-3d-might-be-a-gimmick/).

I saw those two on the big screen, Dynasty is awsome, lots of action, some crazy weapons, and some pretty funny (unintentional?) homo-erotic humor.
They both use the cheezey camera tricks with arrows coming at you, spears and swords pointing right at the camera, goofy but fun. I've also seen Jaws 3-D and A.PE. in 3-d at the same theater. Yeah 3-D is a gimmic but its fun

"Dynasty" also used surround stereo effects which were written into the plot. For instance the hero freaks out one of the villains by throwing his voice in a forest and making it sound like it was coming from every direction.
It was also one of the movies syndicated by 3D Video in the 1980's along with "The Mad Magician", "Return of the Creature" and "Gorilla at Large" and was part of Cinema Shares syndicated martial arts movie package in the 90's.
I got a question. Does anyone know if any of the other Jackie Chan Lo Wei Studio films were shot in 3D? I recall a couple of the other films ( "To Kill With Intrigue" in particular ) where they were poking things at the camera for no reason and always wondered if they were shot in 3D but released as a standard movie after "Magnificent Bodyguards" tanked.
