Cool. I recently had an episode where I passed out at work, resulting in admission to the hospital for a couple days. You never know what can be going on in a person's life. People need to reach out more.

Are you okay? Were they able to figure out why that happened? :o

The short and the long of it... My blood pressure was way up, along with blood glucose! Apparently the stresses of the past year were working on me and I had no idea. Losing my mom last year was truly rough on me and being an only child, a great deal of responsibility landed in my lap, with me not taking any time off or anything-things just mounted.
Thanks for your concerns, KFB, and JJ77.
... probably from overdosing on too much blu-ray
I wish it were that simple. Now I'm on a hypertension medication, and borderline diabetic. Not good.

Sorry to hear about your health problems Dragon, I wish you the best in getting well. I have been on BP medicine(HBP runs in my family) for years myself and it keeps it pretty much in control. I'm sure all the exercise I do helps as well and it's a great way to combat stress. :)

I went thru almost the same thing too.
I lost 2 family members within an 8 month period - my GF in January '08 & my Father in August '08 ( 4 days before my birthday).
All that stress, sleepless nights..etc. caught up to me - being the primary caretaker for my GF before she passed away & then my suddenly my father a few months later - my BP shoot thru the roof.
I didn't even know it was high until one weekend there was a health fair in my neighborhood & I decided to take my pressure & sugar level. Sugar was fine but my BP was about 180 - saw the doctor the following week & was put on BP meds.
I am slowly changing my diet - cutting out certain food & drinks (haven't had a soda or strong alcohol drink in 7 months - I miss my Guinness). I bought me a recumbent bike & on it 4-5 days a week. I also loss about 15 pound.
When you are taking care of others - you have to take care of yourself - that is so true. But at these moments we never think that way - we only think of taking care of that person(s).

thekfc- my condolences for your losses. I know how tough it is brother. Just want you to know you're in my thoughts.
The Dragon- I'm glad to know your problem is something that can be controlled with medication at least. Don't want to lose another "Dragon", dig? ;) Take care of yourself my man.
I talked to Oldeschool. He's burned out on the fu a bit, tired of the drama and numbskulls on the board, and in the middle of some important life stuff. Nothing bad, just big. He said that there are some posters here that he'll miss, but he might not be back. :(
I understand where he's coming from, but I hope he reconsiders. His posts often made me laugh out loud. He has a great sense of humor, trustworthy taste in films, and was always very generous with help- especially about technical stuff. A very cool dude.
Anyway, we'll definitely be keeping in touch.
Oldeschool needs to get back on the Fu and get back here! I understand though life can get busy, I've taken a hiatus here and there myself. As for the numbskulls that's the internet, this board isn't any worse then the rest of the net.

Thanks KFB. See, just knowing someone is supportive can go a long way to providing a bright spot in a dreary time. I hope OS returns, just for the reasons you mentioned. People like that are worth mentioning as are you supportive people. That's one of the reasons why I continue to stick around. I know how to sort out the trash.

KFC and Dragon - Sorry to hear about your ills.
It's not important, obviously, but hopefully watching and talking about KF with us fellow geeks helps take your mind off the worst. :)
