Haven't heard from him in a while. I know he had some personal issues early last month, but we haven't heard from him since.

We were in the process of completing a trade when all this went down, and I haven't been able to get in touch with him.

Nice guy... I hope everything's alright with him!

This is getting to the point of being ridiculous. I had a big trade with him and sent him a number of dvd'rs over 2 months ago. He told me he had them all burned and ready to ship but needed me to pick 3 others. I havent heard a peep from him since. I have emailed him several times and have gotten no response. This is not cool. It cant take over 2 months to burn 3 dvd's. And not to return emails is just plain negligent. I understand he had some problem but life goes on. At the very least he should leave some notice and update people as to whats going on. I am getting quite perturbed by this. There is just no need for this. White Lotus cmon man get it together.

UGGGH!

I'm in the same boat, ozzieny. We were scheduled to complete a trade in mid May, I sent his discs, he said he sent mine. I KNOW he got his, but I never heard back from him. Then, a few weeks later his personal tradegy struck.

Personally, I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, BUT, we're into July & he hasn't responded to my e-mails.

The guy was always pretty straight with me in past trades, and I have no reason to doubt that he just had a bad run of personal luck.

I guess I'm just chocking this up as my 1st BAD experience on the board. Oh, well! Hopefully Lotus is okay & he will handle the MULTIPLE trades he never finished when he gets his life together.

PS: Ozzieny... since our last trade I got quite a few new titles & would like to see if we can trade again! Send your updated list to my e-mail when you can!

THANKS & TAKE CARE!!!

White Lotus - It is now July 5, 2007. I have waited over 2 months for you to send my discs. I really feel for your loss and hope you are getting through this. I myself lost my mother recently. We all go through loss. Life goes on so I hope you can move foward. Please mail me my discs. You stated 2 months ago to me to make 3 more choices and that the other 20 or so were burned and ready to ship. I have emailed you several times with no reply. Your reputation here is very good and I just dont understand what the problem is. It would be considerate to us if you reply.

I feel kinda bad because this post seems to have started a fire-storm on this site. Thank goodness it seems to be under control now & we can all be friends again.

HOWEVER, no-one ever was able to answer my original question. IS LOTUS ALRIGHT & HAS ANYONE HEARD FROM HIM? My main concern is his well-being, but I can't lie & say that I'm not getting a bit aggravated about my situation with him.

Since it seems to be a touchy subject, how about we establish ground-rules as to when it's OK to question someone about a trade.

As far as I know, 3 separate people sent Lotus discs (at least 3, me included), and he never sent theirs.. Multiple e-mails were sent to him & he never responded & still has not responded.

Personally, 3 simultaneous trades seems like alot. I try to limit myself to 2, since I don't want to get behind in case of outside forces affecting my ability to complete trades I started.

In my case, we had agreed to send our discs on May 17, and it was a full week later that his peronal problems took place. That was wrong right there. I sent mine, and he didn't send his. As for what happened with the other traders, I don't know.

All I can see is that Ozzieny has always traded straight with me in the past, and I can't see any fault in his complaining about not receiving discs when he sent his.

I feel for Lotus. I really do. When tragedy strikes, take time to work it out. Don't worry about trades. BUT... We operate on the honor system on this site, and it simply seems dishonorable to refuse to respond to e-mails from other traders who DID fulfill their promises.

His friend's cousin was killed 6 weeks ago. It's a terrible thing that can rattle a person to the core. I'm sure that kung fu flix is simply not that important to him right now. But I'm also sure that he's still living his life. Being a husband & father. Going to work every day & paying his bills. All I ask is that he respond to an e-mail & say, "sorry, life's tough right now, I'll send them when I can".

I really don't care much about the movies he didn't send, I've already got about half of them from other trades now. It's just that we're all "friends" on this site (for the most part), and we OWE eachother as much as a returned e-mail.

Just my opinion.

PS: Sorry to Ozzieny for not chiming in earlier, I just refuse to get into a battle of posts that take 20 minutes to compose (each) when minds are already made up.

PPS: did you get a chance to check my list yet???

As I said, I had two previous good trades with the guy.
I'm guessing he's gone (maybe for good). Chalk it up as a loss (18 discs for me). Oh well, lesson learned!

Let me tell you something about Whitelotus. A number of months ago we had a fairly big trade going (30+ DVDs), and after waiting a couple of month or so I emailed him to ask how it was going on his end. He said he'd mailed the package out just a short time after we'd last communicated. I replied and said it must have been lost in the post (which happens occasionally), and that we should just forget about it and chalk it up to experience. But Whitelotus said he didn't want to have a bad trade on his conscience, even though it was not his fault in the slightest, and insisted on re-burning and sending out the whole trade all over again. He did so, and I received it in just a couple of weeks.

Now, my by book, Whitelotus was under no obligation whatsoever to re-send the trade. His responsibilities end when he sends off the package, and if the postal system on my side or his side of the world swallows it up, he can't be held accountable for it. But he insisted on completing the trade, and did so in a timely fashion. I think someone like that deserves the benefit of the doubt, don't you?

Hey, I never said WL hadn't been a good trader in the past. He had always been honest & fair. In 2 past trades I rated him as one of the best I did business with.

THIS TIME, however, he got my discs in early May and never sent mine. He ALSO did this to at least 3 other traders.

After 4 months of waiting, and refusing to respond to e-mails, he has lost the "benefit of the doubt".

I'll still be willing to listen to any explanation he may have if he ever reappears.
