Yeah, but isn't this movie a comedy? Is the fight meant to be that bad? I'm all types of confused.
I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

This one is up there...

Thought I revive this thread after finding the below. It's from a movie adaptation of an obscure Sega fighting game called The Last Bronx. If you get bored, zoom to the 6:10 mark.

That's still my number one of all time. There are so many levels of awesomenes in that clip---the outfits, the villain, the flips, the slo-mo, the dance number----and those kickass 70's high heel boots!

The most dissapointing fight for sure. The movie was actually pretty good. All that build up to a terrible fight.

This may take the cake.

True, that scene is pretty famous. (Nice to have another Travis on the forum btw)

Agree. There seemed to be two things that fly out of his mouth and they looked like small balls. Wow. This stuff is ripe for a parody.

You can never have too many Travis'! (Travi):bigsmile:

How shall we settle this then? Should we both film intentionally bad fight scenes and whoever has the worst one wins?

Wow, that was pretty out there but very innovative. I kind of liked it. I'm surprised Hollywood isn't looking to do a version of this themselves. Thanks for hipping me to that, monkeygift.

Good film, but that's a pretty boring scene. Gets even worse later. But the first 2 hours is pretty cool. Was a fun watch with some enthusiastic Indians in the audience.

So bad, it's fan-freakin'-tastic! If the rest of the movie is half as ridiculous, I'll need to track it down.

I though this movie was pretty fun.

Yuen Woo Ping was actually involved with the stunts/fight sequences, by the way. As strange as that may sound.

Watched Kickboxer 2 the other day, and it has some of the worst fight scenes ever filmed! Im obviously not comparing to HK stuff and the likes, but even within cheesy american MA flicks from the late 80's- early 90's, this is truly disastrous! The Michel Qissi/Vince Murdocco fight is shown almost entirely in slow motion, as is much of the truly dissapointing end fight. The camera placement is all wrong, lots of tight shots, bad angles and close ups, and the editing (which is one of the most important factors) is utter crap! It wouldn't even matter if you had the best screen fighters in the world on deck here. If you don't have the technical aspects down, then there's no point!

This is a textbook example of how NOT to do martial arts action scenes, or any action scenes for that matter.

I believe Sasha Mitchell couldn't fight during Kickboxer 2's production - though he learnt for Part 3.

What's the Burt Reynolds film?

It is called Heat and I highly recommend you seek out this film. I got it from Netflix.
It is a film that was taken for granted during the 80's and would have been considered average in those days but it has aged well, if that makes any sense.

It is actually a nice blend of action, comedy, and drama. That one fight I posted came from out of nowhere in the film though, but it really livened things up and it wasn't what I expected.

You should seriously check out this movie. Besides, if you have watched a lot of 70's kung fu films, you have definitely seen worse.

Ah, I stand corrected. And I agree that it is pretty good.

But I also suggest you check out Stick. The late legendary stuntman, Dar Robinson, stars as an albino cowboy hitman. It's worth it just to see him "die" in this.

I want to see Stick but I believe right now the only way you can get ahold of a copy is the Amazon exclusive, which I hear is transferred from a VHS tape.

I believe Sasha Mitchell couldn't fight during Kickboxer 2's production - though he learnt for Part 3.

Mitchell improved with Kickboxer 3, but I will say if you thought Kickboxer 2's matches were bad, you should see the atrocious ring fights of BLOODMATCH, from the producers of Kickboxer 2. The crime there was terribly miscasting Thom Mathews as a kickboxer out to seek revenge for his brother's death and taking on the likes of Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Dale Jacoby, and Thunder Wolf before having to take on former Playmate Hope Marie Carlton, who just looked outright bad in the action scenes.

I couldn't believe that Urquidez even choreographed himself getting thrashed by Mathews. Even felt more bad that Jacoby and Thunder Wolf were wasted.

Will keep an eye out for those Reynolds movies.
