I'm not sure if anyone on here has seen this or mentioned this, but I just came across this:

http://videoeta.com/movie.html?id=115624

While it doesn't say 100% confirmed, it does seem to imply it, as it doesn't say "estimated for..." like it normally would. Also, it would be of great irony to release this the same day as Dragon Dynasty's release of Five [Deadly] Venoms. Personally, I would've loved a double feature of Five Venoms and Five Element Ninjas, but eh, what are you gonna do? :p

EDIT: As a noob on here, I get too impatient and don't really search things... sorry for being repetitious as another post mentioned the August release... although VideoETA has it as the 18th, while other places say the 25th. Well, MB/TS could've moved it up a week to coincide with DD's Five Venoms release.

release dates are always screwy. that's one of the problems i have at my business (video store) when it comes to the adverts for the movies. they send us a bunch of stuff with the release dates on them for movies, and then they change with little or no notice. then i get the angry hillbillies....

'BUT THE SIGN SAYS WITLESS PROTECTION COMES OUT ON THE 19TH! BUT THE SIGN SAYS.....SIGNS DON'T LIE!"

and with media blasters...well, i wouldn't rely on anything they say something is coming out

Good point. I read about the switcharound issues both Martial Club and Brave Archer had, with MC meant for March and BA meant for late '08, only for both to come out in April (I believe). But since then, they've been coming out every month, with those two in April, Ten Tigers of Kwangtung in May, and now Black Magic II next week for June.

Sadly no. I'm actually finally trying to see the vast majority of Shaw Bros films I've missed over the years, as the first three I saw years ago were The Duel (as Duel of the Iron Fist, from an old TV print taped on late night TV), then King Boxer (after a LONG search for my dad, in which the only title we knew of at the time was Five Fingers of Death!) and about ten years ago, Boxer From Shantung (an English dubbed, Dutch subtitled bootleg VHS... uncut :p ). I've now been eating up the Dragon Dynasty and Media Blasters releases as weekly rituals (Martial Club was great... Ten Tigers left me scratching my head, but had a great "fatality finale", heh heh), and I have a handful of the IVL discs from past trades, including the infamous alternate cut of Chinatown Kid (which I thankfully have the uncut dub on VHS as well).

As for Black Magic II, I just think I'll have to find a used copy of the Image Entertainment Black Magic just so I don't feel like I'm missing something... or find a used copy of the R3 disc to avoid having seizures from Image's apparent massive interlacing issues! Seriously, I've heard nothing but horrid things from Image's releases.

image has seriously put out many an inferior product. while i applaud them for targeting the nitch markets, it's clear that now, they have little time to spruce up the product. i have always given them major props for their exhaustive sam sherman/al adamson editions, but they don't seem to pay that much attention to the KF films. Im thinking it is because they know we will buy them anyway. in some cases, it's like we have no other choice. again, i think it is a case of biting off more than they can chew

Yet they have time to go into the PAL-to-NTSC transfer, and then try to slow it down to the original film speed, thus causing the painful interlacing issue :p I say if they don't have time, they should just do like WellGo and leave the transfers alone and just use the PAL-to-NTSC as is.
