Bruce Lee Super Dragon

A recent email got me investigating some akas. My database has Bruce Lee Super Dragon as a valid aka for Bruce Lee A Dragon Story and Dragon Dies Hard. But the problem is I'm finding it hard to find out exactly what film/films go by the title Bruce Lee Super Dragon -- Super Dragon and Superdragon.

Anybody out there who can confirm these titles?

Super Dragon was the US theatrical release of the film released on DVD by Goodtimes as The Young Bruce Lee AKA Bruce Lee Superstar. I've seen a TV spot to confirm this.

I've seen Super Dragon attrbuted to both Bruce Lee: A Dragon Story (released in the States theatrically as Dragon Dies Hard) and Bruce Lee: We Miss You.

Wrong way round. Li is in the kung fu suit, Lung Fei in GOD pants. Wei Ping Ao plays Raymond Chow (well, sort of) and there's a scene where Bruce Li battles an old man in spirit

Thank you so much killer meteor. I compared the tv spot to my dvd of The Young Bruce Lee and you're dead right. So now I can confirm that Superdragon is a valid aka for The Young Bruce Lee.



Now I just need to find actual confirmation that Bruce Lee Super Dragon title appears somewhere related to all of these following films:

The Young Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee A Dragon Story
Bruce Lee We Miss You


Now the weird thing is this "Jimmy Wang Yu" appearance. According to The Encyclopedia of Martial Arts Movies, Bruce Lee A Dragon Story contains clips from Wang Yu's King of Boxers. My Good Times dvd of Bruce Lee A Dragon Story doesn't seem to have any Jimmy Wang Yu in it. My Jalisco Films dvd of Bruce Lee We Miss You also contains no Jimmy Wang Yu footage that I can see. But interestingly enough, my The Young Bruce Lee dvd from Good Times also doesn't contain any Jimmy Wang Yu but does contain a scene where Bruce Lee is directing a film and they show footage from what I'm pretty sure is The Korean Connection. So what edition of what film actually contains this Jimmy Wang Yu footage?

Also you mentioned in an earlier post that Dragon Dies Hard as an aka for Bruce Lee A Dragon Story. Weird thing is though, the Hong Kong Movie Database lists Dragon Dies Hard as the "main title" for Bruce Lee We Miss You, but lobby cards online clearly show it's from Bruce Lee A Dragon Story.

Are both valid?

I belive The Young Bruce Lee's proper English title is Bruce Lee: Super Star. You'll note on the Goodtimes transfer - from Ocean Shores - there's a freezeframe with the new title applied

Thanks, been after bruce lee superstar a while, i have had more legend of bruce lee (bruce the king of kung fu) dvd`s off ebay, because the description make`s it appear to be bruce lee superstar.
So the Tai seng on HKFlix, and went for it.

these bruceploitation akas make me crazy - been looking into the "Bruce Lee Superdragon" problem since 3/26

when you look over the dvd if you could compare it to the the screen caps from the link below & comfirm they're the same movie that would be great

I figured it'd better to simply reply to this rather than start a new thread. Just been watching LEGEND OF BRUCE LEE (aka BRUCE LEE SUPERDRAGON aka CHINESE CHIEH CHUAN KUNG FU). It seemed different than the Allied Artists VHS I remembered from the 80s, which, after I dug it out, discovered that it's about 13 minutes shorter than the Tai Seng DVD (and Ocean Shores VHS, I'd assume). Even tho it's shorter, there's more footage from other films, including the Wang Yu title, THE SCREAMING TIGER (aka WANG YU, KING OF BOXING) in which (if I'm not mistaken) Wang Yu battles Lung Fei (who plays a different character in the Bruce Li footage!) . IIRC, the Allied Artists VHS is the version that was distributed to U.S. television stations back in the 70s-80s...

Most of the titles that Dick Randall distributed that I've seen were dubbed in Rome - CLONES OF BRUCE LEE, THE NINJA STRIKES BACK, PIECES, FEARLESS HYENA III...

Only exceptions I know of are Challenge Of The Tiger and Bruce The Super Hero - both dubbed in HK
