firs of all i liek to say hi to all , im new, but been following kung fu cinema since 2004 . when i needed reviews on movies, and belive me kung fu cinema was one of the greatest esepcailly as a starter to collecting the old fu movies.
today ,,,err , i orderd jackie chans WHEELS ON MEALS , hong kong legends platinum version , recently the company has gone down , so most of there dvds are being sold for 20 bucks... [hkl version]
so on ebay i find a seller selling it for 10 buks , pictured as hong kong legends plat version .
i get it today to find .. no cover sleeve , and blank disc with wheels on meals written on in plain background , so i was alreadly like shit . this is a bootleg.
and then i put it on , i wasnt suprised , no chapters no nuttin , just the movie in english dubb terrible print from vhs . FAR from hk version lool .

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I ordered the Hong Kong Legend's version of MAGNIFICENT WARRIORS and I got a boot of the Fox version. I wrote to the seller in an extremely polite, but firm message that they had advertised falsely, and that I would like full refund. The seller immediately responded that they would refund the money- which they did- and they didn't even want the disc back.
On another occasion I had to return the disc, and the shipping came out of pocket, but I still got 90% of my cash back. Sent it via "media shipping", which is a cost efficient way to send DVDs.
If the polite letter isn't responded to in a timely and satisfying way, report it to eBay. They usually get it resolved quickly and it only takes a minute of your time to do this.
Good luck!
Report him for selling pirated goods and also false listing, his account will probably be banned and i think his paypal account may even get frozen :15_002:

That is really bad, do you have a link to the item?
Are HKL titles that hard to find these days?

hi all thx for the advice .
be careful even on amazon , buying from 2nd hand , espeically kung fu movies . as they might get you a bootleg.
the one thing that pissed me off the most was that he advertised it with the cover of the HKL version , very misleading. then there was no information about the dvd at all . ! so i presumed it was that version.
but i fell in the trap if its to good to be true , then prolly is . and newgen , since HKL have now stopped buisness. some of there dvds which are out of print , can now only be brought second hand , unfortunatly jackie chan editions are one of them . and now people are selling them here in the uk , for 20.00 to 25 , where once they were a fiver or 15.00
plus its the best editon of the film.
what annoys me even more[sorry to go on] .. is that if the disc was the HKlegends version i wudnt mind BUT ITS dubbed and really bad print which str8 away indicates its not HK , plus nothing else on the disc.
but saying that , there are some great dealers on Ebay !

No problem.
I often ask sellers "Hi, can you please confirm that this DVD is ... I just want to double chack before I buy it." whatever- subbed, HKL version, ect. That way they know that I'm not going to settle for whatever, and I have there reply in writing that I can present- should they lie- to eBay. A couple extra minutes of checking usually pays off.
That being said, I've been perfectly happy with about 98% of my eBay purchases over the years.

Completely agree with KFB! You have to be check things out first with the seller, but once you find a good one, you'll have excellent luck. Stick with sellers you trust and ones that have good feedback comments! Here are the DVD sellers that I highly recommend. I have bought from each of them, and they are excellent:
-buyritemedia (KFB referred me to them)
-evilspeak33
-tsimonelli
-dvdroad
-discotekmedia
