Has anybody seen any of these. A mate got the Jackie Chan episode for me, which apparently is Jonothan Ross interviewing Jackie on the set of "miracles".

Seems pretty damn interesting to say the least.
Other episodes feature a range of actors and directors from various parts of the trash/exploitation cinema world.

I have a few of these episodes- Sam Raimi, Tsui Hark, Stuart Gordon, and the Jackie Chan one- and I love this show. This is the first doc I ever saw on JC, and it is right up there with JACKIE CHAN: MY STUNTS and JACKIE CHAN: MY STORY as far as favorites go. It's incredibly entertaining, has a ton of fantastic clips and behind the scenes footage, and an in-his-prime, extremely enthusiastic and candid, running JC interview.
The standout part for me is when JC is asked how he overcomes his fear to perform these death-defying stunts and he replies that though he is sometimes afraid, in the end he has to just tell himself "Just do it". Then they intercut him saying that throughout a fantastic montage of his stunts. I still joke around and say this (in my best JC voice) to friends and family.
There is a lot of talk in this doc about JC's various injuries, how stunts went wrong, and his relationships with Sammo and Yuen Biao. I'd say this is required viewing for andy JC fan.

I'd love to see the JC episode again, I rememeber the Sam Raimi one was good, I think its on youtube now. Didn't know there was one for Stewart Gordon, like his movies too.

I pretty much credit JR's Incredibly Strange Film Show with introducing me to Jackie Chan and indeed the whole world of HK and cult movies.
I'll never forget how exciting that montage of clips was near the start of the Jackie edition - it honestly blew my mind!!

I also love his (Ross') Japanorama series that were a bit more recent.

Thanks for the youtube links. I didn't have cable back in the 80s and most of the 90s, but I knew about this show and caught a glimpse and wanted so badly to watch the series. This was the best in-depth information on these subjects before the internet. So excited that I can now see them on youtube.

Honestly, I think that since the internet is a button's click away for most TV viewers, the TV show producers just don't feel as compelled to try so hard to bring us well researched, info-filled reports on eccentric subjects.

To create a good show takes time, resources, talent, research, money, and passion for the subject. To create shit... all you have to do is squat! LOL

Plus it's cheaper. Case in point, reality television.
