question on Panmedia's Fearless Hyena DVD

Hey,

I am considering purchasing PanMedia's Fearless Hyena dvd from hkflix. I was wondering how it is in terms of quality etc to see if it is worth purchasing.

It seems to be the correct aspect ratio, which is a good thing, though I would like to know how good or bad the quality is and if it is as uncut of a version as you can get. I'm a bit skeptical considering what a poor reputation PanMedia seems to have. Thanks.

On a side note I'm also considering picking up their version of Wheels on Meals since the Megastar is way out of print now, but I will ask that in the other modern day section.

Stay away from all PanMedia dvds. They are the worst of the worst in bootlegging.

Try and get the Hong Kong Legends dvds if you can.

You can often find the columbia tri star version on ebay for less than $5, well worth it.

the HKL version is still quite widely available and at a cheap price (well here in UK anyway)

Unfortunately Hong Kong Legend discs are region 2 and I don't have a player for that, yet anyways. I may look into the Columbia Tri Star version assuming they didn't mess it up any.

I don't recall anything wrong with the Sony dvd. Looked nice, just no extras. I was excited to buy the Sony SNAKE & CRANE ARTS OF SHAOLIN for a cheap price yesterday.

The Columbia DVDs were "passable", in terms of A/V quality, but by no means nothing to write home about. At the time, they were the best quality around... until Fortune Star got a hold of them. Also, the Columbia DVDs are "dubtitled".

I've seen a Chinatown print of FEARLESS HYENA, and the dubbing was very faithful to the subtitles (which explains alot of the weird verbal humor).
