Hey you guys-

I think you'll really appreciate this I was talking with my buddy Gorhama when my tooth was really killing me (I had to get root canal done on a tooth that couldn't be put to sleep:crossedlips:), and I said to him "I hate when people say this expression to others, but I guess I just need to man up, and just take the pain." He said "I hate that expression too. How about if we start a new expression- Chiba up!" :bigsmile: Referring of course to that madman of Japanese action cinema- Sonny Chiba!

Can you dig it? Since "man up" implies that someone is not living up to being a man at all, it's very insulting. But Chiba-san is obviously beyond a regular man, so if you're in extreme situations that call for you to reach into your soul for something beyond a normal dudes "toughness" reserves... then you need to call on your inner martial arts animal and Chiba up! I love it.

So if you think it's cool, start spreading this expression around, and we'll see how long it takes to go global and show up in a rap song lyric! :xd: LOL

I got my friend who doesn't even like martial arts movies to use the phrase!! Once I showed him who Sonny Chiba was and how bad ass he is..........he said..........."how could I not CHIBA UP?!?!?" I asked him the same question.

I tried to make it like a film & the music bits to be the intro but in the tribute style
& that ending like the end of the film. that inspirational speech had an impact. i thought about action more action is more my thing thats way im into these films which would like more him telling people to "Chiba Up!!" or this one? that feels to me like a Sonny film with the dialog & the action alot of tributes seem to be only action.

i know wouldn't have been allowed to watch Sonny at that age i was watch Police Story, Drunken Master Jackie's stuff at that age i ended up watching films in secret Bruce's ect i even had trouble trying to get my Mum to buy Lone Wolf & Cub off amazon in December fact i only was allowed to buy 18's because my Mum accidentally got one for me.

Bob im nt into cars as much as my Dad but i would still say im interested in them but just nt as much.
so its a bit like the other way round my Dad's nt much of an Asian action film fan but like most with car but nt too gory.
