Calling all experts on Cinema City...

Did they actually set up a production arm in Taiwan or did they shoot their films on location as a HK company?

Cinema City made a series of films in Taiwan between 1982-1986; co-productions with Long Shong (before they decided to set up their own HK-based production arm).

When Long Shong (HK) was born, Cinema City pulled out of Taiwan and returned exclusively to HK cinema.

But technically-speaking was there ever a Cinema City (Taiwan) Co, Ltd?

I've read that John Woo ran a Taiwanese office (which if true would make 'it' a Taiwanese company) but can't get conformation on that. For one thing Cinema City used the same logo and credit on their HK and Taiwanese films.

The "Taiwanese" films are as follows:

Can't Stop the War (1982)
Ghost Bustin' (1983)
Kidnapped (1983)
Papa, Can You Hear Me Sing? (1983)
Send in the Clows (1983)
Run, Tiger, Run (1984)
The Time You Need a Friend (1984)
Love, Lone Flower (1985)
Super Citizen (1985)
Abracadabra (1986)
A Book of Heroes (1986)

Not all of those were released in Hong Kong.
