Guy Ritchie ("Sherlock Holmes," "Rocknrolla") is set to direct a live-action comic adaptation of "Lobo" for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Variety.

In the comics, Lobo is a alien interstellar bounty hunter. The seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc.

Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures. Don Payne wrote the most recent script draft, while Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona will produce.

Shooting kicks off early next year and is aiming for a PG-13 rating.

FYI, Andrew Bryniarski, who played Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and its prequel, played Lobo in a short film entitled The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special and the make up job done on him looked pretty good...if they need to cast someone as Lobo, my vote would go to Bryniarski.

Hmm...LoBo movie rated PG13! mistake already made right there. Lobo is violent and ruthless. His movie needs an R rating to do portray him the way he was meant.

Agreed, they made the same mistake with Ghost Rider, one of Marvels darkest and most tortured characters...and in the movie we have scenes with Nicolas Cage & Eve Mendes that could come straight out of a romantic comedy.
