Dante Lam Working 'Out Of Leash'

Next up for Hong Kong director Dante Lam ('Beast Stalker') is yet another police action-thriller entitled 'Out Of Leash' (AKA 'Fire Dragon'). The film will star Leon Lai and Richie Ren as two cops, one of whom is being investigated by Internal Affairs for the suspected murder of a prostitute.

Following the completion of 'Out Of Leash', Lam is set to move on to his highly anticipated remake of the Shaw Brothers’ 1975 classic, 'The Flying Guillotine'. The original film starred Chen Kuan Tai as a former member of a royal Qing-era hit squad, who is hunted down by his former comrades.

'Out Of Leash' is due for release in 2010.

Fresh off the success of his award winning cop thriller The Beast Stalker - my review here (http://twitchfilm.net/reviews/2009/07/pifan-09-review-the-beast-stalker.php) - director Dante Lam is currently hard at work on his next feature, Fire of Conscience. Starring Leon Lai and Richie Jen it will, once again, be a cop thriller but given Lam's work on Beast Stalker I'd expect a few twists on the norm. On set spy photos have been popping up from this one for the past while but we've got the first official artwork and the detailed synopsis:

The investigation of a prostitute homicide brings headstrong, heavy-handed Detective Manfred in an unlikely collaboration with sly, man-of-the-world Inspector Kee from the Narcotics Bureau. When the DNA samples of one of Manfred's fellow officers are found at the crime scene, implicating him as the prime suspect, Manfred must look beyond the obvious to get to the truth. Meanwhile, Kee's uncanny eagerness to lend a helping hand every step of the way outside his own turf is beginning to smack of evil. In the line of fire between high levels of corruption and possible malice, Manfred must solve all the twists and turns of the mystery, trying to figure out who his enemy is and how to save his innocent partner from unfathomable disgrace. Unwittingly, he is about to open a Pandora's Box that will threaten to upend the entire Hong Kong Police Force.
