mad tv or saturday night live

ive been watching some mad tv and man these sketches are freaking funny(saw the kenny rogers jackass one and almost pissed myself)anyways what do you prefer if you watch any!

I'm from Holland so I don't really get to see it weekly. However, I have seen sketches of both, and occasionally they have shown SNL as complete episodes on Comedy Central...

In short: I don't like SNL at all. Yeah VERY occasionally there's a decent sketch with some funny jokes, but mostly it's just obnoxious 'comedians' with pretty lame material laughing at their own jokes and winking at the camera. And with many of the episodes it seems the cast is high on something, and the audience must be high, or severely dumb/dehydrated/confused or whatever, when they're actually laughing...
Even the old stuff is mostly crap.

From MADtv I've seen very very little, but the Steven Seagal sketches I've seen were very very funny.

Personally, I prefer Letterman and Colbert, as far as comedy-shows go... (but I realise those aren't sketch-shows, although they occasionally have some sketches, which are often very funny...)

SNL has it's ups and downs, but every episode will usually have at least one good bit, but Mad TV was, eh, not so much. The only Mad TV skits I remember really laughing at were Tickle Me Emo and the Pearl Jam/The Calling/Creed/Ray Charles bit. That was classic.

Mad TV was much funnier than SNL. Too bad it's been cancelled.

MADTV > SNL..

SNL is HORRIBLE in my opinion. In fact I cant stand it. Mad TV was always better and sadly its gone the way of other great tv shows leaving us. It will be missed.

There are some great SNL skits from back in the day but I've always preferred Mad TV because their cast always seemed more talented and creative.

SNL all the way. They have been lacking since the nineties, but I still catch a few episodes and laugh.

I think SNL is just too long, there's always so much crap, if it was a shorter show they could concentrate on quality a not having to fill an hour and a half. The only good stuff on SNL in recent years are the videos that guy makes and they're not even live.

Havent watched much Mad but I like that guy that does Stewart the little kid.

SNL. i haven't watched either show in a long time, but if the trends are still the same then it's Saturday Night Live. Mad TV will have some pretty funny skits, more than SNL. however, SNL will have that one skit every so often that would be funnier than two seasons of Mad TV. one just can't count out SNL. for some reason, i preferred going through the dry spells in order to wait for that one ridiculously funny SNL skit.

Im really curious about that "skit funnier then 2 seasons of Mad Tv".. Please give me an example so I may utube it because Ive never experienced that in my life.

The only good thing from SNL as someone poiinted out is the digital shorts and they arent even live.

the last funny thing that comes to mind from snl was the jim carry club scene one with the brothers...mad tv.. plenty pop in my mind especially the blind kung fu master..hehe

Mad TV definitely wins as far as being the better of the two but that's like saying you'd rather get shot in the arm than in the kneecaps.
