those sepia toned fight scenes at the end of men from the monastery, i loved it. does anyone prefer the remake
(shaolin avengers), if so why. chi kuan chun had the most dynamic physique in martial arts films besides bruce lee.
who had the better body chi kuan chun or bruce lee. vote

If I had to swap bodies with one of those dudes at their prime I'd go for the tall guy with two equally lengthed legs, and two testicles. Bruce's body was a triumph over adversity in spite of the latter physical problems. CKC was one tall lean conditioned motherfucker.

Bruce in his prime had an amazing physique they were toned for fighting as well as looks , a lot of bodybuilders admired him.
Chi Kuan Chun is also amazing, have always been impressed with his muscular look, when i saw him in Drunken Monkey i was amazed he still looked great for his age. Bruce died early so who knows what he could have achieved in this area, so a difficult choice, both are great!

CKC all the way! I think Bruce looked sickly towards the end!

I remember watching Showdown at the cotton mill in London back in 81, the cinema house was full, when Chi took his shirt off to up root the tree , the crowd cheered at his physique ,

if you right click view those images, they are larger than shown. it seems this website has the images condensed
to display at a pre determined maximum width & no more. speaking of width and also pre-determined things, even
though comparatively, bruce lee & chi kuan chun both had very similar lean frames, they also had such dynamic
physiques that at times the dimensions of the muscles on those light frames would seem to challenge relativity.
whether it could be written as to if some of that dynamism came from the greatness they were extending past
the roles of the films they were in is not entirely unfound. chi kuan chun has broader deltoids, his infraspinatus,
& teres minor/major (the upper shoulder and upper back muscles) are more developed than bruce lee's. so even
though their shoulders are about the same width i voted for chi kuan chun, he appears larger phsysically.
the question kind of expands from here into another dimension now. the question then becomes: who trully had
the most dynamic physique in all martial arts films. there are only a few other candidates, like jack long. i would
not hesitate to mention sammo hung. his (ahem), muscles seemed to break the laws of relativity all the time.
CKC had a good physique, and he was also an intelligent actor, great screen-fighter, and he had a good deal of "bad-ass" screen presence. I think he should have had the starring role in a lot more Shaw movies.

Look at Tsai Hung going up against Chi Kuan Chun in, I think, Shaolin Avengers. TH looks like he's going to eat CKC, and I ain't just saying that 'cause of Tsui's crazy gob. Dude is frickin' intense.

thanks for those insightful comments dragon. i seem left without a word, uncommonly speechless in fact. here are
a few more my own words, along with more comparitive screenshots. the photos speak for themselves, there is not
really many words to describe the anatomy of chi kuan chun and bruce lee. both men had extraordinary physiques,
yet either one or the other is more developed in one area. after studying the physiques of both, having studied
anatomy in art school for at least two years i feel have drawn closer to the conclusion. bruce lee may *appear*
to have more definition, but really the amount of body fat he had was so low that in my opinion he is ruled out as
the winner because he overall was much leaner than chi kuan chun. both men had very similar frames, and even
though it could be argued as to whether or not one had more defined areas of anatomy, chi kuan chun is still #1.

Both are truly awesome specimens. I always enjoyed the moments when they "flexed" onscreen. Made men take note of their bodies.
... Pound for pound, Lee was the more powerful, although the smaller man.
