Hi Nick

The 2 "must-see" movies off that list are 'Thirst' by Chan-wook Park & 'Mother' by Joon-ho Bong.

The first is a vampire movie, but it's completely the opposite of the likes of 'Twilight', & the second is an excellent murder-mystery suspense drama.

Also worth a look are 'Breathless', 'Marine Boy', 'Missing', 'Chaw' & 'Hauendae'.

I'm also from the UK, if you're close to Liverpool there is a cinema called FACT which often shows Korean movies....I watched 'Sympathy for Mr Vengeance', 'A Bittersweet Life', & 'The Good, The Bad, & The Weird' there...great movies to see on the big screen!

A little UK DVD release info for films on that list:

Thirst - 25/01/2010 (Palisades Tartan)
Breathless - 22/03/2010 (Terracotta Media)
Chaw - 04/10/2010 (Optimum)
Haeundae - already released by Optimum as Tidal Wave

BTW some of the films on that list are not Korean.

I agree with One-Armed Boxer- THIRST was a great film. The missus and I just watched it.

Don't know about a UK release, but SILMIDIO was excellent. If you look these titles up at HKFLIX.COM, all the available versions will come up, and it tells you what region they're in right in the title. That might be the easiest way too find what you're looking for.

Ha ha....I think the expression you're after is "try before you buy".

I know Korean titles arn't so readily available in the UK, especially when it come's to new releases, however 'Thirst' & 'Mother' are both worth an investment to buy blind....trust me you will enjoy them!

As long as you have a multi-region DVD player, 'Mother' is already out on Korean DVD (region 3), & 'Thirst' is due to follow in January, although it is already available in the US on region 1 DVD.
