Hi, I've been aware of this site for a while, but I've always been a long time poster at The Stunt People forum instead. Here's some of my videos.

Derek vs. Kevin (most recent) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=oOSMlIVYcAc)
Derek vs. Kevin Flashpoint Style (http://youtube.com/watch?v=vfb0S6hme1M)
Derek vs. Kevin 2 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=2yIxTG8bCR8)
Derek vs. Kevin 3 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=7z2bQ5OrV3s)
My John Woo style short (http://youtube.com/watch?v=bM-q0hVllJg)
Derek vs. Kevin vs. Shaun at The Stunt People practice (http://youtube.com/watch?v=g8nPSDwcQ_A)
D-Day 2 (a comedic fight that was supposed to be part of a short) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=RqVjzNdAtbw)
HK (One of my longer works and my personal favorite) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=15AHAvdnIbk)
Team Internet (Donnie Yen parody) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=pT8ftiZR9aw)

Just to let you know a little about myself. I've been doing this for over 2 years now. I'm a very frequent poster at The Stunt People message board. I've also trained with them on occasion, because I live in San Francisco when I'm not at school. Besides the SP I'm also friends with many independent martial arts teams and choreographers from all over the place, including Silent Jay of Jabronie Pictures (San Diego), Spidermexican of Lazy Brown Production (Chicago), Joey Min of Team Fistylez (New Jersey), and Dan and Alex from Eclipse (Toronto).

Nice vids, Derek (as I've said before).

This section of the forum is pretty dead tbh. I managed to get a few responses for my vids on here a while back, but no-one here seems to care anymore. You're best off sticking to the SP forum if you want to get feedback for your vids (even the ZG board seems pretty slow nowadays). It's a good little community we've got there, and it's pretty unique.

It's a shame really, cos people like to bitch about the lack of MA talent in films today, yet they don't give any up-and-coming talent the time of day. It's like they don't want anyone to make good action now, so they can carry on watching their old films for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, rant over. :)

I, for 1, want to hear your works. I am also an aspiring filmmaker with interests in creating a specific genre of martial arts film suited to my cultural martial arts (African based).

Keep it coming, the more stories, inspirations/info., the better we'll become at this craft/genre!

Peace,

Well thanks for showing some sort of interest. :)

I'd love to see your work sometime as I've never seen any African based MA action in films (that I know of anyway).

Wow! I just watched the first video up there and I was amazed. That was fantastic work, and the fact that you guys attempted something as ambitious as power powder is quite impressive.

I only learned about this forum yesterday thanks to the front page update, and just from poking around here since then and reading the posts I can already tell the switchover has been a boost. I think anything else you guys posted would go over better now than before.

I like this, a lot. I like the light hearted feel to it, and the exaggerated use of the power powder.

Nice stuff man, keep up the work!

Hopefully I will be reviewing your films in the near future :)

If you ever want any finished short or feature length films reviewed, send them my way.

Very impressive! Nice sound effects, I've made vids myself for my TV Prod. class and it's hard to find effects, something people take for granted. I also like the intercutting, no boring one shots :D Nice high kicks too

the vid looked great however i would suggest maybe putting up your gaurds in the next vid as to give it a more realistic feel. and to give the hit more of an impact feel(so we as the audience can feel the hits) also you guys should try making your own sound effects or the hit it'll sound even betetr then the sound effects you guys got there(which are good BTW)
