Im thinking about shooting a little something what is some good editing software or should I say the best software for a decent price thanks for any help

Well, unless you're planning on shooting something with sfx etc, then Windows Movie Maker works just fine... and it's free. Most people seem to use Adobe Premier or Final Cut though, which are pretty expensive unless... well you know... ;)

I myself use Adobe Premiere 1.5. Don't get 2 unless you have a super new hardware. If you're just interested in doing bare bones stuff, the free softwares that come with Windows or Mac OS will suffice. There are also solutions like Adobe Photoshop Elements which is way cheaper than its big bro and way more functional than free softwares.

i use avid liquid8 myself, i love it one of the very few programs that allows you to change 30i into 24fps
