Hey my name is Tawsif. My username is rafeetawsif....

I want to ask the members of this forum a question... What specific stretching exercises could help me in my flexibility & my kicks? I want some quick answers because I am trying to learn the basics of martial arts tricking....

:lol Ok then. There isn't really much to comment on, but you can certainly move pretty well. I'm no martial artist so I can't give any advice on technical stuff, but I can see that you're form needs quite a bit of improvment.

Just a question, what sort of thing are you aiming for in the future with these vids? Do you intend to make short films with choreographed fight scenes, or are you simply interested in producing tricking/demo vids?

i plan on doin both fight scenes & tricking vids in the future, INSHALLAH. i am slowly starting to learn the basics of tricking....I practice one trick at a time. I have been taking tumbling classes which should help immensely... I do stretching every day & also practice my basic kicks. I just need to learn about editing & choreographing fight scenes.

i have seen ur vids, theportlykicker. Despite having no MA experience, u can move well for yourself.

What do ya think i should improve on? If by any chance, could you teach me how to choregraph & edit fight scenes.

I would appreciate it,
Rafeetawsif.

Just watch a lot of good fight scenes and take note of the editing points, camera placements, rythm etc.

Also, a good bit of advice I once read on how to get to grips with choreography, is to simply try to imitate a short sequence from a fight scene from any HK film or whatever, and film it. Try to film and edit it similarly. Once you get confident doing that, start choreographing you're own stuff.

As a non-martial artist, I, like you, stretch everyday, and keep active so I can pull off certain moves during fight scenes. Although it would be easier just to join a club.:p

Alright, I will try that next time... It's a shame that a filmmaker who hasnt taken any martial arts classes before, is better than me...:eek

Thanks for your advice...

One more thing, how do you add punch/kick sound effects? What program do you use? Well, that's two things, LOL...

Most editing programs allow you to add sound effects if you have them. Ask on the Stunt People Forum. Someone on there uploaded some sound effects, I think.

Alright, Thanks...

What movie-making programs would you recommend for me to use that also allows me to add sound effects? It would be very helpful.....

Read some stuff about dynamic stretching, bro. There's stuff all over the web. Forget trying to do the splits and stuff like that, dynamic stretching is the way to go.
One question, though. What's the hurry, man??
