It's shame really cos there are a lot of people out there having a go at MA filmmaking, like me, but because this section is near dead no one really posts here because they know they won't get much of a response. That, and the fact that the Stunt People has become so popular for people to show off and talk about their films.

Quick, somebody call a doctor - doctor!!!!!
What do you mean they're all out tending to the terminal MA TV series and General Cult Film threads?
A nurse even... she's bleeding heavily... woah, we're losing vital signs... A dentist even... Umm - any medical professional whatsoever?... Some amateur filmmakers?...
Anyone?
Dddddddooooctttttttooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Whoops, too late, she's already dead.

Put that shotgun down! This old dog ain't dead yet! My crappy films are here to save the day!:p

I might as well try and get this section going again so here are my 2 attempts so far at fight choreography. They're only my 1st and 2nd attempts so they're a bit rubbish but, hey, if they get people talking again, postively or negatively, then at least this section isn't completely dead.

Thanks guys!

Peringaten, the thing is I'm not actually a trained martial artist. All of my experience has come from years of watching kung fu movies and trying to replicate the moves myself, which is reletivley easy with hand-to-hand combat, but weapons combat is a lot harder to choreograph without any formal training. Maybe someday when I can afford to take up martial arts classes.

Thanks again for the comments.:D

Well if that's the case you're doing pretty well so far portly - i'm sure you'll find ways of incorporating other tricks.
Keep trying & keep posting 'em...

Hopefully I'll have a film to post myself at the start of September. I'm hoping to meet up with some MA friends and shoot a little fight sequence in a month's time, so I'll post that on here when it's done. I'm so looking forward to making it :-D
