From dirt cheap to around $100.
I’ve seen those different Sennheiser HD-models being regarded by many as great (or best) quality in the price-range. HD-201 is one of the cheapest one’s for example with good feedback. |

Do you want head phones or DJ headphones?
For the price, the "premium" zune headphones have just dropped $15, they are $40 now, and they are the shiz. They're sound deadning headphones, as well as (more-or-less) indestructible. Im on my second pair cause i killed my first one, and i like them |

I should’ve mentioned in the beginning that I want something that goes well with watching movies, that’s the only thing I’m going to use the headphones for. Need something that’ll close out background-sound very well.
Those Sennheiser HD-280 Pro seems cool oldeschool17. You think they are they closing out background-sound well and do they make the ears sweat much after use in a movie’s length of time? |

Im looking for a pair of headphones myself so ill help you. There are three types of headphones "Earbuds", which i do not
reccomend unless your going to use them say for example at the mall or for running/mp3 players. Then there are the "Supra-aural" type which are better especially for listening to music at home. They do not completely cover the ear and are unable to isolate sound like what they call "Circum-aural" headsets in the buisness but be carefull if you buy a pair and look to see if they cover the entirety of your ear like a dome. Perfect Isolation, perfect sound can be found with the later (Circum-aural) headphones because they cover the entire circumfrence of the ear. They are the most effective for sound isolation and also most effective for blocking outside noise. For your Home theatre if you really want to experience the so called ''intimacy'' that that type of headphones has to offer (as opposed to the first two) then i suggest you get those for that type of listening experience. Especially for your ''Martial Arts theatre'' viewing / listening experience. In my opinion Circum-aural headsets (the type that completely cover the ear) are better than your typical surround sound system. That is unless of course you have a Grade A or B level systems. If you do get that type i reccomend you buy a pair that have a metal band as opposed to the plastic. The reason i suggest that you do this is durability issues that i have experienced myself with plastic headphones. Although they looked sturdy and durable ''if you get plastic'' i want to make you aware that if you were to accidently step on them you could break the speakers clean away from the lock in the band. I would avoid best buy and suggest target as they NOW carry a wide range @ $20-200.00. Earbuds Supra-aural (pad headphones) Circum-aural headset

Oldeschool: Thanks for the insight, I’m tempted to get them actually. It's just the cable-lenght that I don't like about it, 1 meter is too short for me so I will have to get an extensive cable if I order a pair.

No problem. You do bring up a good point. At first i thought the length was fine and it is since its only used around my pc. But if i wanted to go into the kitchen or roam a little more, it could be restrictive. Its only a minor thing though so dont let that hinder you from getting them. It's too bad most audio stores dont have headphones for you to try on/listen to. Good luck and let us know what you think of em.

Turned out my money didn’t go to Sennheiser in the end I‘m afraid, all though it was close :) I found a pair of AKG K272 for only 66 dollars more + free shipping.. I couldn’t resist because they have 23 DB more attenuation of outside sound ;), but should be a great pair of headphones too of course.
