The (unsubbed) Toei that came out a few years ago is remastered, though not quite their best work









To be honest, I don't think the film is among the best of Fukasaku or Chiba

Yeah, I wouldn't consider Doberman Cop one of Fukasaku's best, but it's one of his more fun titles. Still, no film deserves the shoddy treatment the R1 DVD combo with Machine Gun Dragon got. I wish they had used the Toei Remaster or even something else as the transfer the R1 got, was horrid.

Thankfully, films like Yakuza Graveyard were given decent transfers when released over here.
