Default Rambo V: The Savage Hunt: 2010'

Rambo V: The Savage Hunt
Synopsis:

Sylvester Stallone returns as John Rambo in this fifth entry of the seminal action-packed series. After the previous film had Rambo helping the people of Burma, this new picture deals with him being assigned to track down a top-secret military experiment whose bloodlust is leaving a trail of wreckage along the Northern wilderness. Stallone writes and directs the Nu Image/Millenium Films production, loosely based on the novel Hunter by James Byron Huggins. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

here is the more detailed synopsis...

A beast is loose somewhere north of the Arctic Circle. And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation. It s a job that Rambo and his 22-year-old hunting partner, Beau Brady, can't turn down, but they and a team of highly skilled Special Forces Kill Team [sic] discover that the prey is beyond their wildest imagination, a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. Theyll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.

It's of note that this synopsis is a bit different from earlier details, which had Rambo hunting down (as opposed to being hunted by): brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life. And when things go wrong, Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad to hunt, capture and kill these chemically engineered creations. The rather un-pro poster that was released for the project seems to point towards Rambo having a wolf, like in the book, rather than (or in addition to) battling a lycanthrope-type terror as some have speculated.

Im looking forward to this, even though it won't be out until 2011.

Does anyone else think Silent Rage with Stallone instead of Norris?

You can't go wrong with Rambo. And this upcoming installment sounds like it could turn out to be the best in the series. Can't wait!

One movie that I'm looking forward to. I saw Rambo in the theaters had had a blast. For me, it's reclaiming a lost childhood as I was too little (pre-kindergarten) to enjoy these type films in the 80s (in theaters). Today's so-called action movies don't do it for me, so this is refreshing,

I wouldn't call myself a Rambo fan but the movies are pretty entertaining trash. The last one however was a major letdown due to the really terrible cg effects that were completely out of place. It's a shame too since it could have been the best of the series (not including the first).

I don't recall any CGI in any Rambo movies. Sly is not big on CGI anyway, he shoots films the old school way without CGI.
