Default Help needed w/ a Yellow Magic Orchestra title

Greetings,

Does anyone remember the above mentioned Japanese group. I can't classify their music. I've only heard one track by them that I am aware of.

The tune is the opening music in the movie, The Old Master. Recall the old master at the airport. The tune begins to play as the old master & the driver enter the car & drive away from the airport. The tune is an instrumental. The track is also played at different times during the movie.

I would really like to have this track. However, I don't know the name of the tune. I just happen to be up late & caught a classic episode of Soul Train. Yes, the group appeared on Soul Train, way back in the day. I was able to track down the name of the group by doing a Soul Train search on the net. I still need the name of the tune.

A title to this track would be greatly appreciated.

In fact, the Two Live Crew sampled this track on a mixed track on the same album that contained Doo Wah Ditty & S&M. I don't know the name of the album. I'm not even sure if Doo Wah Ditty & S&M are the names of the tracks. However, I remember them from my high school years.

Thanks in advance.

These cats were often referred to as the "Japanese Kraftwerk" and I think it's a fitting comparison.
"Computer Games" was probably their best known tune - particularly in hip hop/b-boy circles, made famous on Afrika Bambaatta's classic "Death Mix".

Thanks bro. I've already tried the Amazon route. Nothing doing. I think that I'm going to register another Napster acct. to find this track.

BTW, are you familiar w/ the track that I'm referring to?

I'm very familiar w/ Kraftwerk. I still have fond memories of hearing Numbers blasted at Jasper Park in Decatur, IL. Girls dancing on the tables. Several basketball games going on. No shooting. Just love! Back in the day when things were cool! Does any city still dj in the park?

I don't know enough about Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) to compare them to Kraftwerk. To make that comparison is to say something very positive about YMO. I do know that the track that I have been looking for since I was a youngster still eludes me.

Are familiar w/ the track that I'm looking for? I guarantee that others will want this track. It is that sweet!

Regards

Weirdly, they show reruns of Soul Train at like 3AM on US cable, Soul Train Classics or something like that. Just last month they had an episode where YMO was the special musical guest and it was awesome.

The lead YMO guy's English wasnt very good but he did manage to clearly say he loved Kraftwerk

Yes, I'm old enough to have this on 12 inch vinyl. One of the guys Ryuichi Sakamoto is a good composer on Soundtracks such as Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and The Last Emperor.
