BOOTLEGS vs FANDISKS

since everyone is being so open and honest these days :D i have a question. if you don't have a grasp of the difference please don't post.

first off i love the fact there are some fans out there that make great efforts to preserve and spread these films as 98% of these films are not availible by legit release. i'm sure the fans here can bring up a few good examples.

i hate bootleggers my example is those shops that sell boot leg celestials 7DVD-Rs for 20$ while the shops i buy my legit movies from close.

in theory they are the same but one does way more damage and the greed behind one speaks for itself

if you guys seen the widespread sale of bootlegs here you would get sick. you should see the line ups and there is like fucking 20 of those stores in one mall its nuts. they get busted and re-open the next day.
its obvious triad activity. they get illegals or new imigrants to operate the stores. they take all the risk!!!

Police will only go after them hard if they sell english/american movies. They don't care about the chinese stuff.

they sell US stuff factory pressed dvd-9 boots the stores that have those are so packed its unbelivable.

just making a copy of a legit release is as low as it can get.

silver hermit, that is a very good post you started, and I have to agree with you a 100% there is always a big thing when it comes to Fansubbers & Bootleggers but its true a lot of the Japanese movies that I post will never see the light of day from legit companies and that is a real shame, certain companies just keep releasing the same movie 10 different ways ex. "Seven Samurai" how many different version do we need of this movie don't get me wrong its a Great Movie but there are so many more better movies out there. And then we have the Fansubbers that record off NGN the TV station I believe from Hawaii granted they do charge a little to much sometimes for the movies and I do have a problem with that, but if its a movie that I really want to see then I will pay for it. And then you have the sellers who do subtitle there own work and release it for us to purchase again a lot of people here give them a bad name, but if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have 1/2 of these GREAT MOVIE CLASSICS..

yes i have allways noticed the japanese are big fansubbers. kung fu fans seem to be really greedy IMO. you never see japanese boots turning up in best buy like VA, GZ and PM.

guys like bently that did that warriors 2 a few years ago are a perfect example he didn't do that project for profit.
