Default Question about Shaw titles??

How would you rate these (for me at least) lesser known Shaw flicks?

BIG BAD SIS- looks like a cool 70's exploitation flick.....

THE SEXY KILLER- looks like a HK version of COFFY....

COWARD BASTARD- Yuen Wah in a starring role, dare I dream....

THE FIGHTING FOOL- i've warmed to Meng Yuen Man......

THE BIG HOLD UP- some kind of contempo heist movie with Chen Kuan Tai.......

BROTHERHOOD- Contempo gangster flick with Tony Lau Wing.....

Any info on any of these titles would be greatly appreciated!

SIS is good and a loose third entry in the CKT TEAHOUSE films. This one highlights the action. Chen Ping kicks lots of butt here. CKT guest stars here as well.

SEXY KILLER is even better than SIS. A chinese version of COFFY but ups the exploitation and violence considerably. A shame the sequel LADY EXTERMINATOR isn't coming out.

COWARD BASTARD is okay. Nothing special. Yuen Wah is also a good guy. He shares the screen with Meng here too.

FIGHTING FOOL is pretty bad. A couple of decent spots but nothing more. The final fight is a wasted opportunity for Kuan Feng in HJL mode.

THE BIG HOLD UP I liked a lot. Nice crime drama with a little bit of fights. Chen Kuan Tai is good and turns in an unusual performance. It's an ensemble piece though. CKT isn't the only star of the show.

Haven't seen BROTHERHOOD.

Cool, thanks a bunch Venoms5!

What makes THE FIGHTING FOOL bad, everybody says it's bad, but I still don't know why?? Lack of action throughout? Stupid comedy?

The comedy is very lame and the fights are underwhelming. Kuan Feng sometimes struck me as a Hwang Jang Lee type villain and he is wasted here. Some of the fights are fine but the finale is terribly lacking. The movie also reminded me a bit of the Italian western THEY CALL ME TRINITY (1970). It's also painfully apparent Shaw was trying to imitate the indy films that had become increasingly popular then. Like Hammer Films before them, they weren't up to the task.

Fighting Fool was bad on many levels. I remember the characters being goofy as hell. Cmon, the one guy had a cartoon pig on his "kungfu suit." Wasn't Jamie Luk an Indian? Lam Fai... didn't he look like Pippy-longstocking? Cmon now. I DID like the "ring" at the end though.
