Has there ever been a PROPER (Legit) quality DVD release of this sorely underrated film? One of my favorites, and would love to find a good quality DVD release. And while Im asking, how bout a decent "Fire Dragon" (YWP) DVD release!?

There was an official release in Holland (very hard to find but original language with English subs) and in Italy here...BURNING PARADISE DVD...
This seems to be dubbed in Italian tho. It was released on a very good VHS by MIHK in the UK also...here... BURNING PARADISE VHS. Any other versions, red sun etc are boots. Its about time someone released this dark classic on a remastered dvd! Fire Dragon was released in the UK(R2 PAL) but seems hard to get at the moment....Fire Dragon DVD |

I have the BURNING PARADISE DVD from Holland. It's a good, but not great print. The English subtitles seem a little lazier than the original HK English & Chinese subs. But I'm still very happy to have it on DVD at all.
I seem to remember there being an official version of FIRE DRAGON released here in the states in the mid-'90's. If I recall correctly it was widescreen with imbedded English and Chinese subs. And I think it had the Ocean Shores logo popping up from time to time? I thought this was weird as I'd never seen it on anything widescreen before. A friend who's no longer with us had lent it to me. I believe it came in a lime green clamshell case? I know I made a VHS copy of it at the time... Though I think I read somewhere that it's finally being released again. Can't remember where. Not sure if I helped. |

Discotek picked up the US DVD rights for Burning Paradise. Their website currently lists a bunch of titles for "before the end of the year" and some for "a little later" (presumably meaning 2009). Burning Paradise is one of the latter.

French DVD for BURNING PARADISE is way superior (proper PAL, 16:9) to the absolute Rubbish Dutch / German DVD (which is a crap NTSC-PAL Conversion and non-anamorphic). but if diskotek gets it done, it'll surely improve the Quality Standard for this Movie again.

The UK tape was the cut Cat-II version.

to my Information the UK Tape is even shorter than the cut HK Print (HK 98 mins PAL, UK 95)
nobody ever bothered to compare them frame by frame though. |
