As Marcus pointed out, it's also helpful to have a general knowledge of filmmaking, so you can communicate with the director and crew. Another advantage of going to film school is that you'll make connections in the industry, and you can put together a short film on your own to showcase your skills. I don't know if there are any schools for stunt work in the US - maybe a reader can help us out here? But Master Hu Jianqiang just opened an LA branch of his Shaolin Wushu Center ( http://www.wushucenter.com/ ), and I think his goal is to steer his students into stunt work. You might look into a program like that. Good luck!

Well, I’m not an expert, but I think the first step in building a career as an action choreographer is getting experience on a film set, either as a stunt person or actor. My question is the same as the one Sylvester Wei asked. For a while now my mind has constantly been on choreographing fight scenes and acting in martial arts films because I love martial arts so much and if I could, I would like it to become my life. Any help at all is very much appreciated, so far I have found nothing and I have looked so so much.

Dear Jean Lukitsh/ Marcus Young<br

How can one attain the position of martial arts choreographer? I would like to be one someday. Thank you.

Dear Jean Lukitsh/ Marcus Young:<br
