WOLVERINE

Despite a rough cut of the film being leaked to torrents a month ahead of release and mixed reviews, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE has been a raging success at the box office with a healthy $87 million opening. Not surprisingly, Fox is already planning a sequel with star Hugh Jackman. All Variety has to say about it is that it will focus on a samurai storyline originated in the comic series.

I haven’t followed the Wolverine/X-Men comics since, oh about 1988 so maybe someone in the know could fill us in on what this samurai storyline is all about. I’m intrigued.

OMG!!!! I just want these movies to stop!!! This movie was so terrible. It was not a good movie on any aspect. I was cracking up when I saw an interview with Hugh Jackman yesterday. He was saying that he wanted viewers to feel uncomfortable watching him (Wolverine) feeling disturbed and a sense of creepiness; fearful of Wolverine. Lol basically the way Heath Ledger's Joker made viewers feel. Lol what a joke.

I was like yeah, the only thing Disturbing about Wolverine in this movie is him running around butt-naked into barns. WTF?! LOL Yeah and Wolverine was so dark and creepy the way he tells Sabertooth, "no no Victor don't hurt innocent people I love them!" through the whole freaking movie. And how every time Wolverine and Sabertooth hugged (yeah remember that in the comics?) and told each other how much they loved each other and how brothers look out for each other; I swear I heard, "Fa La La La". Yes Yes uncomfortable indeed Mr. Jackman.

Ok, so you hate Sabertooth because he killed your, oh wait a minute he didn't kill your chick in the film? So things are cool between you guys right? So effin stupid. Anyone who knows just a bit about Sabertooth was most likely disturbed seeing Sabertooth pouring fake blood on someone.

This movie should have been called, "X-Men Origins: Hugh Jackman".

Even my gf was confused during the whole movie and she was actually stoked to see it and knows nothing of comic books. She could even tell it was sloppy and poor writing and that so much was left out or just lazily skipped.

It was SOOOOOOO BAD. I guess it's no Spider-Man 3 though. What I heard is that they're making two more Spider-Man movies. Wtf? Please NO!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I liked the cheesy "love story" (wolverine; moon girl; and wachi-chu? WTF?!) in it and how the adamantium bonding process takes only 20 seconds and looks nothing not even remotely close to the actuall process, or the glimps of it from X2. Memory swiping adamantium bullets??? WTF???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure the samurai story (although the main villians were ninjas) refers to Frank Miller's 4-part limited series which was regarded as the greatest Wolverine story ever told. Hugh Jackman said this is the story a lot of comicbook fans wanted to see brought to film. It has to be this story. If the studio stays true to the source material, this could be the best film of all in the X-series.

I guess I just like it because of the Mortal Kombat "homages".

Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh on th film becuae it was a letdown from my expectations.Wolverine is beyond those travesties DB: Evolution and Chun Li. Still though Wolvie just wasn't up to par with other big May summer openers of the past few years to me.

hmmm, a sequel? i dont know... in the cartoons, his first love interest was that Lady Deaethstrike chick, before she even was Lady Deathstrike, im not so sure about the comics, but yeah, im still not so sure about the sequel of wolverine. hmmm, it can be good, only if the storyline and everything else falls into the right place... well, whatever the results are, i just cant wait for the Avengers movie!

he definitely spends some time in Japan in a few storylines: has a love affair with Silver Samurai's niece who becomes head of the Yakuza, battles the ninja clan known as The Hand, learns and perfects the martial arts and even fathers a child named Daken with another Japanese woman ...
  • On second thought, maybe I am the one who just swallowed the bait but I trust Mark otherwise! Maybe it's a rumor and will never happen.
  • OMG, there is such a thing as Samurai honor (Bushido) and it WILL be desecrated by Hollywood. After all, look what they've already done to Kung Fu and ninjas. Idiot American pop moviegoers have continually swallowed the bait that the even bigger idiots in Hollywood have dangled before them. I have no hopes for this film.

There are many. I hope it will be the kidnappe of kitty Pride a.k.a. shadowcat by Ogûn (a ninja master) who turns kitty into his disciple, corrupts her to turn her into an assassin till wolverines comes and face Ogûn. This one is very old, but it is probably the best I read about wolverine. I think it was in its regular series x-men, but I'm not sure.

So they probably will do another, maybe fighting against the Silver Samurai or something.

Nah, DB: E and Chun Li are what's wrong with Hollywood action movies. Wolverine was fun for what it was.

In my opinion Wolverine sucked balls. Crappy ass fight scenes. Crappy ass story. Cheesy one liners. OOoo shiny! Really bad cgi. The list goes on. Wolverine , to me, represents everything that is wrong in hollywood action movies.
