Louis Cha) wuxia novel, "Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre". The insane plot compression is a direct result of this. (At least) one sequel was also intended, but didn't materialize due to poor box office results.For a much more faithful recreation of the story, see Ma Wing Shing's comic book adaption (of which at least 11 of the planned 12 volumes were published).
