Marko Zaror

A news bomb has just dropped courtesy of Scott Adkins Fanz concerning confirmed casting in Isaac Florentine’s highly anticipated martial arts actioner UNDISPUTED 3. Joining Scott Adkins onscreen will be Chilean martial arts star Marko Zaror (KILTRO), as well as THE PROTECTOR’s Lateef Crowder, stunt actor Ilram Choi who recently doubled John Cho in J.J. Abrams STAR TREK, and actor Mykel Shannon Jenkins.

Zaror first came to fame as stunt double for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in THE RUNDOWN for which he earned a Taurus Award at the World Stunt Awards. He since went back to Chile to star in that country’s first martial arts movie, KILTRO. He followed that up with MIRAGEMAN. Now, it looks like he’s re-entering Hollywood, this time as a star and hopefully pitted against Scott Adkins.

Both Adkins and Zaror are phenomenal screen fighters with jaw-dropping abilities. Getting them in a movie together is a masterstroke of genius. Speaking of Adkins’ ability, check out the latest video (see below) to show him in training for his role in UNDISPUTED 3. Previously, we got a glimpse of his fitness regime and this time we get to see his screen fighting moves with stuntmen.

Set the flashy spinning moves aside for a moment. Look at how close his strikes are to his opponents and how tightly they react to his movements. Look at the speed. Look at the precision. This is 21st century screen fighting at its finest.

All you tricksters and wannabe Jackie Chan’s out there with dreams of movie stardom need to study this clip. All you new Hollywood producers and so-called action directors need to study this clip. This is how you do the fancy moves right. No CGI. No undercranking. Okay, one wire but it looks like one of Adkins’ stuntmen was in the harness. If you don’t have someone like Adkins in your movie, someone with speed, grace and power and you’re trying to sell these moves to your audience, go home.

That move where Adkins feigns a spinning kick with his left leg and follows through with a strike with his right is his signature move. He did that move in THE SHEPHERD and perhaps earlier but it keep getting better with practice.

Awesome, U3 is now my most anticipated martial arts film (having FINALLY seen Ong Bak 2 just last week and lord knows we'll all be talking about that for a long time). U3 is potentially the best all action martial arts movie in years. Next up I'd like to see Redbelt director David Marmet team up with Adkins to make a martia arts movie that both kicks ass but also carries a serious message of the martial arts as well.

This is great news. All the comparisons with Tony et all are silly. Both Scott and Marko are fast and amazingly agile for their size. I highly recommend searching out the end fight from the film "Special Forces" for Scott and the rescue of the newscaster sequence from "Mirage Man" for Marko to understand just how impressive these guys are on screen. Undisputed 2 made a great martial arts film out of a sequel to a middling boxing drama. The finale of this fight is going to be amazing!

After watching this video of marco, i think he is no like Tony, he is much faster and explosive, the kick in 0:17 I have never seen it before on a movie.

    Scott vs Zaror

this will be a slap in the face!!!

i've just finished viewing both of these training videos and I am defenitely impressed with the caliber of martial arts skill both men have, even their acrobatics are astounding! If these two face each other on screen the choreograhphy has to be with no bounds and no set limitations so that that these gentlemen can compliment one another with their martial art skills. As of late i have been more than impressed w/ Scott Adkins I personally think he will be the one who will inject new blood to our fading hollywood action movie genre. I will definitely keep my eyes open for these two gents. Here a question to your writers; What do they think of Sho Kosugi gracing us again on the big screen, in Ninja Assassin?

    awesome!!
  • Thanks again Mark! Scott Adkins is amazing and if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have enjoyed watching "The Shepherd" over the weekend and the opportunity to see him on film (because I am averse to watching JCVD films in general).

As far as Marko Zaror is concerned, he is no Tony Jaa but nonetheless impressive in his own right!
