“Screen Power” and “Jade Screen” correspondent Lisa Clemens has finished her first book, set for release at the end of July. The book, titled “Jackie Chan: The Lo Wei Years,” focuses on the action star’s tumultuous relationship with the Hong Kong director who repeatedly attempted to make Chan the next Bruce Lee.
The book includes a look at the cast and crew of the Chan-Lo collaborations, the Bruceploitation era, the Hong Kong film industry during the 1970s, a look at Lo Wei, and much more.
Based in the United Kingdom, the Screen Power Publishing Group are responsible for two publications, “Screen Power: The Jackie Chan Magazine” and “Jade Screen: The Ultimate Asian Film Magazine.” They most recently released the book “Enter the Fat Dragon: The Life and Films of Sammo Hung,” a look at the Hong Kong stuntman-turned-prolific filmmaker.
“Jackie Chan: The Lo Wei Years” is set for release on July 30th, 2009 and pre-orders are available online at HongKong-store.com/
For complete information on the book, go to the Screen Power Homepage
Correction: “Screen Power” magazine is not an “official” Jackie Chan magazine as originally stated. Jackie Chan’s management group, The JC Group, no longer endorses the magazine so the correct title is “Screen Power: The Jackie Chan Magazine.”
