It was a huge success in Thailand but that's really based off the popularity of the first Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong. (Which are two of my favorite martial arts movies of all time) Everyone, including myself, couldn't wait to see what Tony Jaa did next. I was very disappointed and if you have seen the long trailer for it that came out a year ago, you have seen the best parts of the movie. Pretty much all those fights come in the last 20 minutes of the film. And while they are decent fight scenes, they don't come close to the inventiveness of the fight scenes from his first two movies. Up until then those fight scenes, this is a dull and boring movie. I think much of that can be attributed to Tony Jaa's first attempt at directing. I know someone else eventually took over but a lot of what he directed was still left in. I think he should stick to what he does best and that's not directing. Ong Bak 2 is a mess of a movie. To many switching scenes every second. Tho, that is not to say the movie sucked in the martial arts arena. I enjoy watching the fight scenes in the movie.
