The official web site for Daniel Lee’s upcoming wuxia actioner 14 BLADES was recently unveiled with Chinese and English text. There you’ll find an official synopsis, cast and crew info, trailers, images, and poster art. It’s become a tradition that film web site launches in China are accompanied with a press conference, this one attended by star Donnie Yen and director Daniel Lee.

Regarding his status as China’s current number one martial arts star Yen attempted to put it in context. “I never thought I’d be called the ‘King of King Fu,’ said Yen. Every actor has their own style. Each actor who has been performing for many years makes their own contributions. It’s luck that some people like my films.”
Daniel Lee has promised a full hour’s worth of fighting action while Yen promised the film has more to offer than just kung fu.
Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Jinyiwei were masters of the 14 Blades. Above the law and with a license to kill, they devoted their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone.

Unbeknownst to Qinglong, the Jinyiwei have fallen under the control of Jia, and during the mission he’s betrayed and barely escapes with his life.
Now as the most wanted main in the land, Qinglong must seek out and rally the loyalists to rise against Jia and restore the Emperor to power.
In his way are the deadliest assassins in the land, his former brethren, the Jinyiwei.
