The music of veteran Aussie hard rockers AC/DC features prominently in the highly anticipated superhero sequel IRON MAN 2 as evidenced by the trailer where their 1980 anthem “Shoot to Thrill” plays. Taking this association a bit further, Marvel Studios and Columbia Records have announced the CD compilation “AC/DC: Iron Man 2.” This 15-track collection of the band’s finest tracks, some of which are featured in the movie, arrives in stores April 19.

To help promote both the CD and upcoming film (due in theaters May 7), a new “Shoot to Thrill” music video has been cut. It contains images from the film mixed with recent footage from an AC/DC concert held last month in Buenos Aires.

People may take something like this for granted today but I’ll tell you what, as a kid growing up reading Marvel comics like “Iron Man” and listening to AC/DC, the thought that someday someone like director Jon Favreau would have the smarts to combine the two together in what could end up being one of the hottest action movies of the year is pure bliss.

Enjoy.

Mark I can honestly say that there are very few bands on this earth that can match the awesomeness of AC/DC. I know exactly how you feel about this upcoming film/music combo

now…have you ever listened to Rose Tattoo? AC/DC's brother band from Sydney. The Young's produced their first two albums. Well worth checking out if you are a fan of AC/DC, the Ramones, or just dirty fast hard rock….or just anything Australian. to me ALL australian music rules

It's called “Shoot to Thrill”, not “Shoot to Kill”
