BANGKOK ADRENALINE (2009)

Bangkok, the city may be going up in flames as Thai military clash with anti-government protesters but life goes on for some, including the makers of BANGKOK ADRENALINE who will finally see their film released to theaters next month, assuming those theaters are still standing.

BANGKOK ADRENALINE is an English-language, Thai action-comedy created by and mostly starring Western foreigners, many of them stunt professionals such as screenwriter and co-star Conan Stevens (SOMTUM) who has been blogging about the film at his web site since late 2006 when he announced that he had been recruited by his friend, director Raimund Huber to adapt a story about four deadbeat expatriates trying to survive in Bangkok.

The film stars British-born, tricking stunt actor Daniel O’Neill, a Jackie Chan Stunt Team veteran with acting credits that include GEN-Y COPS, THE TWINS EFFECT and Tony Jaa’s THE PROTECTOR. He portrays one of four Western backpackers recently arrived in Thailand who find themselves in debt to local gangsters. In a desperate bid to save themselves, they kidnap a beautiful heiress (Priya Suandokmai) and hold her for ransom. Turns out they have inadvertently rescued her from a murderous plot by her own father. He unleashes an army of hitmen and these unlikely heroes fight back.

The film also stars Dom Hetrakul, Lex de Groot and Geoffrey Guiliano.

Action direction is provided by Ron Smoorenburg, the Dutch high kicker famously featured as Jackie Chan’s opponent in a climatic rooftop fight sequence in WHO AM I?. Dan Oneill and Panggrit Sangcha provide assist as action choreographers and Daniel Oneill, Gwion Jacob Miles and Eric Shuetz are additional fight choreographers.

BANGKOK ADRENALINE has been dubbed into Thai for its local theatrical run which begins on May 14th.

As the father of Ron and moviemaker too, I know that Ron is the actiondirector of Bangkok Adrenaline.
And not only that but also fighteditor.
From the beginning of starting the shots I was completely surpised bij Ron’s magnificient ideas about the fightscenes and stunts.
With the choreography Ron was helped by Daniel Oneill and Panggrit Sangcha and that was a very good team.
Every month Ron showed me the results of the shooting and later the trailer witch he made.
Ron took very much time in his job and even nights he was working (editing and so on)
Ron goes for more than 100 % as he has a project and that is why I am so dissapointed that Raimund Huber, Ron did not give the credits he deserved and him titled as fightchoreograph in stead of actiondirector.
Mayby mr. Huber is afraid that Ron gets more attention than him……but one thing is sure…you will hear much more fom Ron Smoorenburg.
I hope for mister Huber that he enjoys what he has done….but he can never hurts Ron because Ron walks two steps faster than mr. Huber

Ron Smoorenburg is a piece of shit and doesn’t know how to handle people or how to direct action at all. He is a freaking coward who isn’t respected by anybody I know. Google him on “my stunts” with Jacky Chan and you will see what kind of stuntman he is. On his showreel he shows the moves which are in fact done by a stunt double for him coz he couldn’t do it himself. What a joke. Calls himself stuntman and action director. Hahahahahaha……. and sorry Albert but you should have raised your son to be a man with balls not some kind of chickenshit….

  • Albert Smoorenburg

    This comment is for Burt.
The way he speaks about Ron is so miserable unrespectfull and sounds so jalous thay I think that he lost his mind.
Sorry Burt you must be very jealous on Ron because you cannot do what he does and he has more brains in its pink than you in your whole body otherwise you should not talk so much nonsens.
Ron treats people very respectfull and is often to kind for people who does’nt always deserve that.
Ron is resepted in whole Bangkok and Hongkong.
One jump in Who am I (see my stunts) was’nt done by Ron because Jackie would not pass his own stuntman. Jackie and some teammembers told that Ron after finishing Who am I.
He used that in My Stunts to show how good Jackies team is and truly it was Ron first movie and he had still to learn the rythm of the moves but sorry for you that you are so dumb and does’nt understand those things. I only can say play with your own balls if you can find them????????????? and show them your friend Raymund Huber.

    Can you imagine..
Burt = Ray Huber ….The Director of the movie. This says enough I think about the person himself. The only one who didnt respect me (and 99% of the crew) was him because of an ego and power problem. Thats why nobody wants to work with him anymore because you get a big knife in your back after you worked hard for him. He even steals your credit like he also did from the original scriptwriter.. He only took 5 credits himself and there was not even a director on the set.. everybody says…
People who get suddenly a lot of power doesnt know to handle these things. If you become director with no experience from being an extra in the background only… then you get these powertrip people…

well I stop talking… people like this punish themselves.. so for now I continue with my own movie and wipe my tears from laughing…. Mr Ray Huber… congratualations ‘DIrector’ with showing your real face to the world
