The first look at director Louis Leterrier’s new CLASH OF THE TITANS is here in the form of a teaser trailer. The film is a remake of the classic 1981 fantasy actioner, originally starring Harry Hamlim as Greek hero Perseus who does battle with Medusa and the Kraken monster to save Princess Andromeda.

CLASH OF THE TITANS (2010)

In this 300-style update, Sam Worthington takes on the lead role with Liam Neeson replacing Laurence Olivier as Zeus.

Leterrier should be familiar to action film fans as the helmer of French-Hollywood productions UNLEASHED and TRANSPORTER 2. He previously worked as a production assistant on Luc Besson’s THE MESSENGER so he already knew his way around a period epic before tackling this one.

While digital effects will undoubtedly be the centerpiece of the film’s action, the film also boasts fight choreography by veteran stuntman and coordinator Buster Reeves whose previous credits include fight work on MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III and THE DARK KNIGHT where he doubled Christian Bale. Hailing from Yorkshire, England, Reeves has a background in Wado Ryu karate and has captured several titles in competitive jujitsu.

CLASH OF THE TITANS will be making its way to theaters March 26, 2010.

Have to say it looks better than I had expected. I'm surprised at how much of the original plot is still in there. can't wait to see the Kraken.

    So…

Lens flare, slow motion leaping, “documentary” style camera work in what is clearly a fantasy movie, and beefy guys yelling have officially become the new camp? I'd really hope that we can finally label all this what it is and move on before it ruins the upcoming Conan movie.

Im pretty annoyed at the producers using the middle eastern warrior image (turban, etc) as the bad guys. No freaking creativity! How do these people get their jobs?

yes, what's with the beefy and bald heroes? otherwise, as much as I loathe remakes, this could be fun.
