After nearly a decade of disappearance, the martial arts-themed convention known as Dragonfest is making its return, thanks to Michael Matsuda and the Martial Arts History Museum.

Originally founded by martial artist and film star Gerald Okamura, Dragonfest was the martial arts equivalent of comic conventions. Fans got to meet some of their favorite action stars, learn about the history of martial arts, and more. Now after nine years, Dragonfest will make its official return on May 18, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Media Center in Burbank, California.

Scheduled to appear at the event are actors and martial artists Lorenzo Lamas, Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton, Art Camacho, James Hong, Eric Lee, Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, Douglas Lim Wong, Peter Cunningham, and more. There will be mini-seminars as well as the announcement of some upcoming martial arts action films.

Tickets cost $25, which will go to the Martial Arts History Museum. For more information on this event, go to the Dragonfest webpage or call the Martial Arts History Museum at (818) 478-1722.
