Ninja

We’ve got the scoop on a nearly three-minute preview of Isaac Florentine’s NINJA. This video shows a rooftop battle between Scott Adkins and a ninja opponent. What viewers may notice is that it is very clearly shot and edited with accompanying production design to suggest both Japanese-style and Hollywood superhero movies, something like THE GUYVER meets BATMAN BEGINS. Isaac has even brought back the “whoosh” sound effect from his early post-POWER RANGERS days.

NINJA stars Adkins as Casey, a Westerner studying ninjitsu in Japan who is called back to New York by his sensei in order to protect an armored chest containing the weapons of the last last koga ninja.

Digging it! Film still looks like a blast!

The comic book/japanese superhero fan in me is really getting a kick out it what I’m seeing especially after seeing the wings pop out of the ninja:)

AND SERIOUSLY! I still l mean when I say give Isaac Florentine the Daredevil reboot! This stuff already looks two times better then the Ben Affleck Daredevil film, and it seems to have the same spirit of the Daredevil comics…at least when Frank Miller was writting/drawing it.

Perhaps its just me, or does this lack a lot of the intensity that was in Undisputed 2? Hopefully the rest of the film is more fired up with its action scenes and they ditch the simplistic techno beats background music for a decent soundtrack. Something with real instruments.

I.F. definitely gets better after every film. Get some decent screenstory and writing and you’d really have a major winner.

OK Give me a BREAK ALREADY! Jumping off rooftops falling down grabbing on, come on lets be a little more realistic here! I’m mean I’m pumped to see it but not over the edge BS!

I admit I am still willing to give this film a chance, even though it kinda reminded me of a flying squirrel…Hey, where’s the Mutant Turtles?

The “flying squirrel” trick looks to me like a reference to the para-gliding ninja seen in a few early ’80s martial arts films, one of them being Tony Ching’s DUEL TO THE DEATH.

Wow. That sucked so much. Did anyone reflect on the fact that the “ninja” said he would actually release the girl when he killed adkin or that a cop at the end was going to shoot adkin without even a warning or that adkin did not dislocate his shoulders jumping to another building and falling an entire story before catching onto some rail. This is american ninja all over again, very disappointing.

i like ninja movies… but that kinda sucked. it didn’t draw me in, and at some point i wasn’t paying attention, also the ninja outfit looks ridiculous. hmmm fighting on a roof, i wonder if they were trying to take us back to like sho kosugi’s revenge of the ninja. now this is a ninja film i would pay attention to.

Looks like it could have been alot better

Didn’t like batman ninja. His custume also looked like something out of Road Warrior.

Damn I was really hyped for this movie still I saw that.

It is clear from this demonstration that the ninja has superior skill and could have dispatched Adkins a lot sooner but decided to make him suffer before his demise. If this were a shorter film, that might have been the last fight but instead, that was the demonstration of ownership over your opponent that fuels the next training sequence.

Eighties styled super powered ninjas. I’m there. And the ninja just grunts. LOL. I love it. That ninja put a whooping on him too.
