I’m still a bit lost as to how New Line Cinema allowed THE STREET FIGHTER to slip into the public domain. I know New Line’s parent company Warner Bros. doesn’t give a damn about enforcing copyright on their buried Hong Kong titles like PEDICAB DRIVER or THE BLADE, but I think the situation with THE STREET FIGHTER predates that, and it was a title that New Line had actually marketed on VHS and LaserDisc relatively recently. Besides, wouldn’t Toei have something to say about THE STREET FIGHTER being public domain?
