On October 4, Hollywood’s female stunt performers will come together at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles to honor the best in their field at the 2nd annual Stuntwomen’s Awards Luncheon. Five awards will be handed out to stuntwomen for outstanding achievement in the stunt community during a gala event which benefits The Stuntwomen’s Foundation and the Thrill of Victory Scholarship Fund.
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis will be honored as the 2009 Diamond in the RAW Action Icon recipient and Laila Ali is scheduled to receive the 2009 Dare2bDifferent Award. Other special guests include actress Emily Procter (CSI MIAMI), Patrick Stinson, Lee Meriwether, and Lauren Perkins.
Producers for the event include Paula Bond of First Option Entertainment, La Faye Baker of Stone Cold Action Productions and the Diamond in the RAW Foundation.
Last year’s event honored actress Linda Hamilton. Award winners included Nancy Thurston, Brad Martin, Paula Dell, Shauna Duggins, Mimi Leder, and Sandy Gimpel.
