Fans looking out for the latest action packed films can check out this list for upcoming home video releases in October 2011. Special thanks goes out to the crew at VideoETA.com for providing these upcoming releases.

DANCE FU (October 4) – Former child star Kel Mitchell stars and co-wrote the screenplay for this action-comedy around a hip hop dancer who must combine his dance skills and martial arts to take on the gang that killed his uncle. In a bizarre twist, Mitchell plays BOTH the hero and the villain. The film was directed by popular comic actor Cedric the Entertainer, who also plays a role as a detective. KFC favorite Larnell Stovall (UNDISPUTED 3, NEVER BACK DOWN 2) choreographed the fight sequences.

ARENA (October 11) – The TWILIGHT SAGA’s Kellan Lutz gets his first lead role in this futuristic action film. Lutz plays a firefighter who is unwittingly kidnapped and forced to fight in a virtual arena called The Death Games. The premise of the Death Games? Fans vote whether the loser of the matches lives or dies. The film co-stars Daniel Dae Kim (LOST) and Samuel L. Jackson as the maniac behind the Death Games. Stuntman and martial artist Arnold Chon (LOCKED DOWN) choreographed the action scenes.

FREERUNNER (October 18) – It’s parkour meets BATTLE ROYALE in this action film set in the streets of London. Sean Faris (NEVER BACK DOWN) stars as a freerunner who is kidnapped along with six other freerunners by the devious Mr. Frank, played by Danny Dyer. Equipped with explosive collars around their necks, the freerunners are on a high chase on the streets of London. One wrong step and the freerunners are dead, all for the prize of $1 million and Faris must not rescue himself but his girlfriend. The film co-stars freerunning champion Ryan Doyle, who also served as one of the fight choreographers.

SUCKER PUNCH (October 18) – This is NOT the Zack Snyder film that was recently released. This is actually a 2008 British action drama that stars BLADE II’s Danny John-Jules as a hustler embroiled in the world of bare knuckle brawling. While he has never had a success as a manager, his life changes when he meets a drifter named Buchinsky, played by Scottish martial artist Gordon Alexander (THE PURIFIERS). The film co-stars mixed martial arts fighter Ian Freeman and a cameo appearance from future WARRIOR and DARK KNIGHT RISES star Tom Hardy.

SHAOLIN (October 25) – Benny Chan’s critically and commercially praised Hong Kong film comes out on DVD in the USA. The film was partly shot at the real Shaolin Temple and focuses on a betrayed warlord who finds a sense of peace when he is forced to hide out at the temple. However, when the man who betrayed him is hellbent on finding him, the former warlord must band together with the monks who have befriended him in an attempt to save the temple before it is too late. Stars Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse, Wu Jing, and Jackie Chan. Fight choreography was by Corey Yuen with special help from Shaolin Abbot Shi Yongxin.
