RAGING PHOENIX (2010)

CHOCOLATE star Jeeja Yanin (aka Jija Yanin) made a big impression in her debut martial arts film and it’s no surprise to see that she is back for a second starring role. This time the taekwondo-trained actress is dropping the autism act from her debut and reportedly will be incorporating a bit of romance and some form of hip-hop dancing into her screen fighting performance in RAGING PHOENIX.

This news confirms earlier rumors that Yanin was working on a second film with action director Panna Rittikrai and members of French stunt group Team Tri-X.

In referring to a promo reel that is not available to the public yet, Twitch Film suggests that production company Sahamongkol has something very different in mind for the film’s fight choreography and action. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what they’re referring beyond their reference to hip-hop.

So far we know the film is directed by Rashane Limtrakul who previously fused action, comedy and music together in 4 ROMANCES. It features action from Panna Rittikrai’s stunt team. Yanin’s co-star is “Kazu,” aka Patrick Tang, a stunt actor and member of Team Tri-X.

    Jeeja looks cute!

As long as this film doesn’t turn into a “Cradle to the Grave” type movie then I’m looking forward to it. I’m interested in anything with JeeJa Yanin

I’m really interested in seeing the hip-hop elements of the film. This has become easily one of my most anticipated movies. Can’t wait to see what JeeJa Yanin pulls of this time.

The description of CHOCOLATE sounded vaguely familiar. After a bit of soul searching (and a review of my Netflix rental history), I found out that I did. If CHOCOLATE was that forgettable, I don’t see a lot of promise for this RAGING PHOENIX.

Hip-hop AND dancing in an Asian martial arts/kung fu/action film? No thanks, I’ll stick with the hopping vampires.

Chocolate was pretty cool Kraak needs to get of the crack. The scene with the guy who had turrets and she mimics him was brilliant.

Oh, chocolate was brilliant fun, the autism-kun-do-muy-tai vs. tourrets-monkey-break-dance-fu scene is just brilliant, in its homage, humor and pure fightyness. will look see forward to rageing phoenix!

There are no words equippible for the greatness of this film. The movie is the reason why martial art is a part of my life. I loved the story and especially the action. When I watched it the first time, I kept pausing it to make it seem like a longer movie. I didn't want it to end. Most great movies have pros and cons. THerE are no cons in this movie.
