New home video release dates for director Isaac Florentine’s NINJA, starring Scott Adkins, have been announced. In the U.S., First Look Pictures is rolling out DVD and Blu-ray editions on March 9. A DVD release will follow in Thailand on March 12. Meanwhile, NINJA was recently made available on DVD in Russia on November 19th. We also have cover art and spiffy wallpaper to share courtesy of Scott Adkins Fanz.

NINJA stars Scott Adkins as a ninjitsu-trained American who returns to the U.S. at the request of his sensei in order to protect the weapons of the last Koga ninja from a bitter rival.

The film brings respected martial arts veterans Adkins and Florentine together again after previously working together on past DTV action films THE SHEPHERD: BORDER PATROL, UNDISPUTED II: LAST MAN STANDING and SPECIAL FORCES.

The pair will soon follow with the highly anticipated prison actioner UNDISPUTED III: REDEMPTION, which pits Adkins against Chilean martial arts star Marko Zaror (MIRAGEMAN).

    The fact that this film has stolen the poster design completely from the SUPERIOR film NINJA ASSSASIN should give you an idea of the originality and value of this straight to dvd “product.” Hack work all the way around.
    What SHAMEFUl theft. Disgusting and above all, PATHETIC.
    It's a pity you can't use the wallpaper as toilet paper.

    Are you aware that Ninja Assassin was panned by critics at all its festival screenings and apart from its higher budget none of its released clips show even a slightly higher level of competence than the footage from Ninja?

    Keep in mind also that the stars and director have nothing to do with the marketing team/promotion. Nu image should be ashamed they couldn't be more creative.. someone needs to be fired. I wish people would STOP comparing N.A. to Ninja… one is at least a 70-80mill budget compared to a 5-7mill budget, there is NO comparison…both are ninja movies BUT one gets the 5 star treatment and budget, the other has to do the best they can with what they were given.

    Isaac Florentine clearly knows how to shoot a fight scene. James McTeigue does not. I have no idea where you got the idea Ninja Assassin was superior to, well, anything.

    cmon kagenogoddamn u gotta admit he does have a point about I.F. knowing how to shoot fight scenes. Some of the reviews said ninja assassin was shot too dark, there were more special fx then ninja action and too much damn spinning in most of the fights like it was a ballet or something. Either way both will bring some respect back to ninja movies… win win situation for action enthusiasts.

    Ninja assassin isnt even as good as the TMNT cgi flik and considering this film has people involved who know wtf they are doing in the field of action and martial arts anyone with half a brain would see that this is the superior film.

    There are NINJA movies coming out this year and next, and we're here “arguing” about which one is better!

    You do know that Ninja was completed over 6 months before Ninja Assassin was…Ninja has been in production longer and the poster stuff happens all the time, it's the marketing dept that does the posters, sometimes when the producers run out of time they copy elements from other posters, I work in advertising…they do it all the time, everybody copies off of everybody. I do feel that since they have real martial artists in Ninja and from the looks of both of the trailers..Ninja looks to be the better choice. I of course will see both as should you to make a fair comparison.

    “Ninja Assassin” will most likely be nothing more than a weekend wonder, if that, so I'm not sure “Ninja” can steal much thunder from such a little storm. People who buy the Florentine dvd by mistake – if any do – will most likely be getting a better movie which they'll enjoy more anyway.

    Just saw the movie yesterday and it was exatcly what I was expenting, the story is average, good enough not to bore you while you wait or the fighting, which is superb, all real and well done, better than any fighting that had came out of Holliwod on the past 10 year, the down side for me was the lack of ninjas, there's only two ninjas in the entire movie and it will help for Scott to do a little more acting then fighting just show that he can do both, I don't think this movie is going to lauch Scott into an action superstar yet, stil he is the best MA actor we got and I said the best because MJW is not a fulltime MA actor, I don't think Blood and Bone was better due to the fact that it didn't have a back story to the story and there were more fighting in Ninja then in Blood and Bone, lets wait and see what Scott will bring on Undersputed 3, overall I gave the movie a 7 out 10 but it gets a 10 out 10 in the fighting department.
