The new trailer to the long-awaited sequel, THE RAID 2: BERANDAL, has arrived in time for the New Year!

This new two and a half minute trailer gives details of the plot. Rama, reprised by Iko Uwais, is determined to take on the corruption that set up the catalyst for the first film’s events. To do so, he goes undercover in the underworld of Indonesia as the city is run by two gangs, one Indonesian and one Japanese.

This new trailer features some of the brutal action you will see in the film and judging from what is seen, the action looks like its been amped up a bit from its predecessor. Alongside Uwais will be Yayan Ruhian (in a new role), Julie Estelle, Donny Alamsyah, Tio Pakusodewo, Ryuhei Matsuda, and Kazuki Kitamura. Gareth Evans returns to the director’s chair and wrote the sequel as well. Uwais, Ruhian, and Larnell Stovall serve as fight choreographers with car stunts from Hong Kong stunt legend Bruce Law.

THE RAID 2: BERANDAL is set for a U.S. release on March 28th by Sony Pictures. With that said, Kung Fu Cinema wishes everyone a Happy 2014, and from the looks of this, it’s going to be a major butt-kicking 2014!
