SHERLOCK HOLMES (2009) Empire has scored the first poster art for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action reinvention of author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes property. The two posters for SHERLOCK HOLMES depict stars Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as his friend and biographer Dr. John H. Watson.

Not suggested in the art but made clear in the trailer is that this Sherlock Holmes will be a fighting sleuth, unlike his predecessors, who uses a martial art called bartitsu to not only solve crime but fight it.

SHERLOCK HOLMES is scheduled for release on December 25.

    Those posters are pure crap. Downey looks like he wants to drink your blood while making smartass remarks about it. Jude Law looks like he’d rather be driving around slowly in a 1984 Econoline van with no windows and a bag of tainted candy. The trailer was better… and I didn’t like the trailer.
