The next installment of the TRANSPORTER films, created by Luc Besson, will be coming to theaters in the U.S. in March.

However, don’t expect Jason Statham to return as Frank Martin, the titular “Transporter”. The new film is the first in a proposed trilogy of prequels with former GAME OF THRONES actor Ed Skrein playing a younger version of the Statham character.

THE TRANSPORTER LEGACY, as the film will be called, has Frank working for a crime lord, who believe Frank can take down Russian human traffickers. To ensure that Frank will do the job, the crime lord has taken Frank’s dad as leverage. Ultimately, Frank and his father will be forced to team up with the crime to put an end to the human trafficking ring.

Ray Stevenson, Loan Chabanol, Radivoje Bukvic, Gabriella Wright, Anatole Taubman and Tatiana Pajkovic co-star. Camille Delamarre, a protégé of Luc Besson’s who directed Paul Walker’s final completed film, BRICK MANSIONS, directed the film with a script by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper. Luc Besson and Mark Gao are the film’s producers.

THE TRANSPORTER LEGACY will hit theaters on March 6, 2015.

There are two phrases that automatically tell me a movies’s fight scenes are going to stink. The first is “Jerry Bruckheimer Presents…”, and the 2nd pops up when one finds out that a film is going to be directed by “…a protege of Luc Besson…”.

I’d much rather they used a new character instead of prequelling Statham. Just strikes me as a bit lazy. Mind, better than doing a Spidey and punting out an unnecessary remake.

Very stupid, there’s only one frank martin and that’s Jason Statham. This guy they’ve chosen, and please understand I don’t blame him he’s an actor he’s gotta eat I get it, however he does not come close to Jason Statham in appearance so how is this supposed to be convincing as a prequel to the 3 existing Transporter films? Either get Statham back or just for once leave it alone please
