Yahoo! Movies has published a new two-minute trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s THE LAST AIRBENDER. This follows the release of a Superbowl spot last week and last year’s teaser.

I’m really digging the look and tone of this movie so far, as well as the actors, so much so that I’m changing my plan. I had originally planned to watch at least the first season of the original animated series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER, which is what the film is based on, before the movie was released but I’ve changed my mind. I’ve decided to wait and soak up Shyamalan’s vision first to see how it stands on its own. Thereafter, I’ll dig into the series to find out where he steered the source material right or wrong and whether it matters or not.

Looks interesting…Seems like it will have superb special effects. That's all that I can see from this film so far. I hope the action/martial arts choreography is up there with the effects. If so, I believe this has a chance to be a decent movie.

That's closer to how I imagined a STORM RIDERS sequel would look than the trailers for the STORM RIDERS sequel ended up looking. I continue to feel cautiously, curiously optimistic about this.

    Mark,

Surprised you haven't seen the Avatar series…awesome, and the film looks awesome too. Hope it is a hit.

I'm really trying to figure out what you guys see in this. It's the same bland imitation HK action that Hollywood has been attempting for years. And Shyamalan is a mediocre, one-trick director to boot.

If you're an avatar fan, like me, it will be a gust of wind from god's nostrils.. but if you dont have a f#$#@ing clue what avatar is.. it will blow chunks.

The martial arts should be great, especially with the stunt double they used for the main character (see website link).

Honey get a life, it's not that serious. You have to be a true cartoon & martial arts fan to dig this so take a pill.

This just in: I'm not a real fan of animation or kung fu movies. I must admit, I didn't see that coming.

You really ought to see if you can add a reply to a reply for the comments section, Mr. Pollard.

I've added a couple extra reply layers. I won't be able to add more until I figure out how to adjust the style setting that's causing the indent on replies.

why do studio plants always use the 'its not that serious' take when it comes to justifying millions of dollars on a dud script? yes its for the kids, but remember honey, the average age of viewer of this website is at least 10 years older than the certificate of your latest desperate kiddie cashin, and yes, TRUE martial arts fans. so maybe you ought to take your planting somewhere else?
