On August 25, 2012, Japanese fans will have the chance to see one of their beloved anime characters come to live. The live-action adaptation of RUROUNI KENSHIN, based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, will be released in theaters.
Takeru Satoh plays the red-haired samurai warrior with the scar on his face known as Kenshin. Co-starring in the film are Yu Aoi, Yosuke Eguchi, Teriyuki Kagawa, and Koji Kikkawa. Keishi Ohtomo helmed the film, which was shot last year. Ohtomo also co-wrote the screenplay with Kiyomi Fujii. The film is produced by the Japanese branch of Warner Bros. Pictures and from the looks of it, seems to have some exciting swordplay sequences.
