The RZA’s long-awaited martial arts film THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, is slated for release later this year. The rapper marks his directorial debut with this homage to classic martial arts films and the wuxia pian as well as play the titular role, a former slave who becomes a blacksmith in feudal China who finds himself in the middle of a clan war over a treasure in gold.

Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, Daniel Wu, and Dave Bautista are just some of the names who co-star in this upcoming film, which was co-written by The RZA and HOSTEL director Eli Roth.

I sure hope it is good. I would have preferred the RZA had taken a much more old-school approach. Too many special effects and the costumes look too outlandish for my taste. I know He is a hardcore fan so I will see it regardless. I am not sure what all these american actors are doing in the movie Russel crow and Lucy Liew. They would have been more suitable in a modern adaptation of the story but not a remake. Oh well good luck RZA.

his directing is on point…looks very good, minus wirework and nonkung fu practicing actors…good job approaching stories blacks in china, as their were cultural exchanges from china to africa and vice versa in antiquity…good job rza .

Wow, this looks pretty good. I wish RZA the best with this film. I didn’t know  Tarantino had anything to do with it, but he does have an exagerated way when it comes to fight scenes, like a gazillion gallons of blood spilling from someones body ( Kill Bill, ect..)  I do like the classic fight scenes and really hope this movie sticks closer to that. Never the less you can see Tarantinos hands all over the trailor scenes. I’ll watch anyway. :o)
